Today we wore our Favorite 😍 Sports 🏈 ⚽️Team Gear to school. It was so fun to see all the different sports and teams represented in our school. We love these fun dress-up days to show our school spirit!

Today, our Preschool Pathways classroom had a discussion about clouds ☁️ in the sky 🌌! They looked 👀at pictures 🖼️of clouds and a book 📕 about shapes 🔹🔻▪️! Later on, they talked about how clouds make different shapes. Afterwards, they used various art materials that help to develop our small motor skills, like paint 🖌️brushes and crumpled pieces of paper 📄 as tools ⚒️! Look at these kids go! We sure love 🫶 watching their creative minds work ❣️

Today we celebrated Disney Day by wearing our favorite 🤩 Disney gear and enjoying a visit from a couple Disney characters, Rapunzel 🩷💜 and Spider-Man ❤️💙!! They sang songs, read books and even taught us some fun Spider-Man moves!! 🕸️

The start of a new school year is always exciting, but little ones sometimes feel nervous about making the transition whether that be the prospect of a new classroom, new teachers or new friends. Try these tips to help build your child's confidence for the first day of school and beyond:​

👋 Wave Goodbye to Summer: Enjoy an end-of-summer picnic and a first day back at school breakfast with your family.​

🙂 Keep it Positive: Your attitude makes a huge difference when it comes to building excitement about the school year. Talk to your child about all the fun they'll have and how they'll get to see their school friends soon. ​
​
🍎 Practice Healthy Habits: Schedules tend to get off track in the summer, so it's important to reestablish your child's normal sleeping and eating schedules. The transition will be easier for both of you when your little one is well-rested and feeling good. ​
​
🗓️ Make a Paper Chain: Starting in the final days of summer, create a paper chain with every "link" representing one day. Have your child draw what happened that day on each link. When the first month of school is over, you'll have a fun memory craft to decorate with. ​
​
📚 Read Together: Reading books about heading back to school is a fun way to get your child excited while helping strengthen their early literacy skills. ​

It was fascinating to talk to Bradley Shafer with Primrose School of North Meridian. Having just got back from Louisville, and finding out he was originally from there, we had some great things to talk about. (For the record Louisville is pronounced Loo-a-vul by those in the know). In our discussion and tour of the school, I learned that Primrose school serves as what is probably best described as educational daycare facility and they have curriculum for all ages. Their clients know that their kids aren't just being baby sat while they're at work, but also receiving an age-appropriate education while there. He saw that need here in the valley started Primrose School to fill that need. Brad appears in the June edition of Meridian Lifestyle Magazine.

This week our Preschoolers (3 year olds) read the book 📕“Stone Soup” retold by Heather Frost. After reading the story, they got to go into the Primrose Patch and care for the garden and check on the veggies 🥕 🫛🥔🧅🥦. Once they got back, our Preschoolers made their very own Stone Soup, after adding the ingredients and letting it cook- we got to try our soup 🍲 😋!

Happy National Teddy Bear 🧸 Picnic 🧺 Day! Our first Teddy Bear Picnic Day is in the books 📚 and was a huge success. Each kiddo loved 🥰 getting to enjoy a yummy picnic lunch with their favorite teddy bear or stuffy. Due to the HOT 🥵 summer weather, we made the best of it and picnicked inside to stay nice and cool 😎!

In June, Primrose schools in Middle Tennessee hosted over 340 teachers for Professional Development Day! This event was full of learning, collaboration, team-building exercises and networking. ​

We're happy to support by providing them continuous opportunities to learn and grow. Thank you to everyone who helped bring this Professional Development Day to life, from schools and Franchise Owners to our guest speaker and the amazing teachers who help build a brighter future for every student.

This month, in our Preschool classroom, our students have been learning about what it means to be a good citizen. Each student made their own sign to hold up while their friends worked through an indoor obstacle course! It was so wonderful to see how excited 😆 they got for their friends as they worked on problem solving🧐 and balance ⚖️. Way to Go Pre-school 👏🙌🤩!

Spring Fling has come to an end, and this year the Primrose community has raised more than $510,000 as children learned about the joy of giving without expectation. 🌸🎉​

Half of the funds raised will support local charities in Primrose school communities, and the other half support the Primrose Schools Children Foundation's mission to empower people, care for the planet and give back to communities through contributions to West Lakes Early Learning Center, No Kid Hungry®, Save the Children® and more.
