Artistic Expressions

A day camp to allow kids to explore creatively and express themselves through art and personalizatio This page is to inform and invite. Call us with questions.

Here at Artistic Expressions our desire is to help parents understand the importance of creativity. We are offering day camp to allow kids the opportunity to explore and create. Each child will have the opportunity to personalize their own drawstring backpack, design and make a mug, and create their own chalkboard. These are all separate days at camp and each day will be filled with other exciting events to help the child explore ideas.

Teaching Creativity

WHY CARE ABOUT IT

The world needs more and more compassionate creativity to solve difficult problems confronting us. Creative people do not have answers, but they habitually question the status quo and think about alternatives and improvements. They discover and invent possible answers. They habitually ask better questions. They have optimism. When combined with empathy and compassion, creativity is bound to be a force for good.

Teaching creativity to everyone is vitally important if we desire a good life for all.

Sir Ken Robinson Do schools kill creativity 06/19/2015

Sir Ken Robinson Do schools kill creativity

This great article and TED talk talk about creativity and schools. Let's get those creative, artistic juices going before school starts so the kids are ready to start the year right.
The belief that schools are failing to nurture creative skills has grown in recent years. The educator and author Ken Robinson, for example, argued in an influential TED talk in 2006 that current education practices crush student’s innate creative talents. Robinson clearly touched a nerve – this became the most watched TED talk of all time (see below).
