We are asking for our churches to join together in praying for our brother Sam Flores.

Rev. Flores serves as the DS of our South Carolina District and will be having an urgent heart surgery on Monday. See the update from the SC District Office.

Update below on South Carolina DS Sam Flores. Let’s keep lifting Sam and his family before our Lord as he prepares for open heart surgery Monday, April 25.

Prayer Request & Health Update - Rev. Samuel Flores
Good Evening, SC District Family:

Thank you for your continued prayers for our District Superintendent, Rev. Samuel Flores.

I wanted to provide a more in-depth update concerning the surgery and recovery, and this will likely be my last update until after the surgery. On Monday, Pastor Sam will have open heart surgery. There are currently two valves that have been damaged due to the blood infection. The aortic valve is the valve that was damaged initially, and the infection has caused damage to the mitral valve as well. During the surgery, there is a possibility that the surgeon will be able to scrape the infection from the mitral valve and just replace the aortic, but if that is not a possibility, both valves will need to be replaced.

There is still an infection in the blood, which continues to be a concern. While performing the surgery, the blood will be infused with antibiotics while it is not flowing through the heart. Following the surgery, there will likely be more infusions to deal with the infection.

The surgery is scheduled for 7:00am on Monday, April 25th at Lexington Medical Center. Visitation is limited, so we are asking that you join with us in praying during this time wherever you may be. Pastor Sam will be in the hospital for up to a week, and has been told to clear his calendar for the next two months, although he should be able to return to light, at-home work after a few weeks.

The District Office has been preparing for this time, and is able to continue serving our district churches, so please reach out if there are any needs or questions that arise.
