Fuller Voice Instruction

I have retired from private teaching but I am keeping this page so that visitors can leave comments or share memories. I was fortunate to have had the honor of teaching such talented students.

David Fuller holds a Masters in Music from The Boston Conservatory of Music. Member of National Association of Teachers of Singing and American Guild of Musical Artists. David has taught voice through the Boston Conservatory Division of Special Programs, Cleveland State University, Lakeland Community College and The Fairmount Center. He was a 1976 and '77 finalist in the New England Regional Metropolitan Opera Auditions. David peformed as an apprentice artist with the Santa Fe Opera Company American Bicentenial production of " The Mother of us All", by Virgil Thompson, recorded on New World Records. His musical theatre experience includes the " Dreamboat" Cruise entertainment in Boston. David is currently the Coordinator of Liturgical Music for St. Anselm Church in Chesterland, Ohio. Call 440-477-9317 to schedule your voice lesson. David is comfortable teaching youth and adults in a wide variety of styles, from classical to popular music. Students have the opportunity of performing in two recitals each year. Here is an example of what students are saying about David: "Mr. Fuller is an expert on teaching good vocal health and skill for the beginning singer. His emphasis on classical technique will allow flexibility of style and continuity in performance. He also assists the singer in a good base knowledge of the vocal mechanism which can be extremely helpful and necessary for anyone who wishes to pursue voice professionally! I studied with him for several years and his amazing teaching has allowed me to transition easily between styles, teachers and range. I give him a very high recommendation; my experience with him was invaluable." -Natalie Reder Mr. Fuller accepts students from Geauga, Eastern Cuyahoga, and Lake counties, including areas of Chagrin Falls, Solon, Pepper Pike, Chesterland, and Aurora.

[05/16/20]   I am now fully retired, and I want to thank all of my students, parents and friends. It was a great ride. I will leave this page open so you can share comments or memories and listen to some videos. Thank you all again for helping me live my dream.

You can now read testimonials if you click on “MENU “ here on the Fuller Voice Instruction

I enjoyed our voice recital last Friday. There are always new people who shine. I think the human voice wonderful as it is the perfect union of mind and body.

Success Stories - Adriana Holst

She’s a young girl with an old, wise sense of wisdom when it comes to performing arts.

For Adriana, 14, belting multi-octave songs with the help of Fairmount Fine Arts Center music director David Fuller comes to her as easily as jumping rope or shopping at the mall.

Adriana won the National Singing Star 2013 Cleveland Audition with her rendition of “The Little Mermaid” hit, “Part of Your World.” She specializes in musical theater, tap-dancing, playing piano and singing. Adriana cites Wizard of Oz star Judy Garland, Glee actress Lea Michelle and torch singer and actress Barbra Streisand as her influences.

“She’s iconic,” Adriana said of Streisand. “She inspired me to work to where I am now.”

Why does Adriana love Fairmount? It challenges her and encourages her at the same time.

“Fairmount motivates me to keep working hard,” Adriana said. “It gives you the opportunity to grow as a performer, yet lets you know you have a lot to learn. The second you let your ego get to you, you quit growing.”

The Chagrin Falls High School Freshman said she started working with Fuller in 2010 and began her career at Fairmount in 2008. Adriana’s mother, Dawn, said she was proud of her daughter and loved Fairmount’s rural setting.

“I’m always greeted by friendly faces and I trust David,” Dawn said of Fairmount, adding she loves its rustic setting. “I’m proud of Adriana and what she’s done.”
