So proud of our MAA Acrofest team that spent the weekend at Highland Academy. They did an amazing job! 

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤 𝐢𝐧 𝐏𝐡𝐨𝐭𝐨𝐬: This week we celebrated 100 days of school. Don’t be fooled, those senior citizens in some of the photos are students. We also had a team building activity to go along with the celebrations. The week ended with a spiritually uplifting chapel service done by Mary Grace, a pianist with one hand and a stub. Birthday celebrations and some students’ projects of colonies are also featured.

𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑾𝒆𝒆𝒌 𝒊𝒏 𝑷𝒉𝒐𝒕𝒐𝒔: It hardly looked like a week of testing at MAA as students engage in fun classroom activities before and after testing: 3rd/4thh Grade field trip, crossing the Red Sea in PreK/K, visiting mount Mariah in 1st/2nd grade, exploring the principles behind how planes fly in 9th/10th grade, and chapel with Mr. St. Bernard.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐤 𝐢𝐧 𝐏𝐡𝐨𝐭𝐨𝐬! Awesome week leading up to our MAP testing week.

𝗠𝗔𝗔 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝟯𝟬𝟬 𝘁𝗼𝘆𝘀 for Le Bonheur children’s Hospital. Mrs. Nelson, Mr. Mote and our student association members delivered the toys on Friday December 16. Congratulations to Mrs. Kaylee's PreK/K class for donating the most gifts.

𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑾𝒆𝒆𝒌 𝒊𝒏 𝑷𝒉𝒐𝒕𝒐𝒔: With the backdrop of academic excellence, this week was a mixture of rehearsals and celebrations. Mrs. St. Bernard’s 1st/2nd grade class celebrated reading 500 books with a pizza party and MAA spent Thursday at Memphis First SDA church rehearsing for our Christmas Nativity play. All are invited to the play on Tuesday December 6 at 6:30PM at the church ( 7895 Cordova Rd, Cordova, TN 38016).

Congratulations to Mrs. St. Bernard's 1st/2nd Grade Class for reading 500 books.

𝐇𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐲 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤𝐬𝐠𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠! Our last day before thanksgiving break was food, fun, and fellowship. Our student association hosted a Fall Feast for our students and staff with help from some wonderful parent volunteers. See you after thanksgiving break on Monday November 28.

Our Week of Prayer last week was done by Claudisha Harriel and was centered on being a Family. Here are a few highlights.

𝗔 𝗵𝘂𝗴𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗼 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀, 𝘃𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗿𝘀, 𝗰𝗮𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘀 𝗻𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗯𝗼𝗿𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗮 𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗖𝗮𝗻 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗗𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲! We were able to distribute 400 bags generously donated by area merchants on Monday and returned on Friday to collect the non-perishable food items donated by our campus neighbors for the less fortunate. The Can Food Drive was part of our Week of Prayer activities.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸 in 𝗣𝗵𝗼𝘁𝗼𝘀: This week students from Pk to 10 grade met their Big-Brother-Big-Sister Family for the first time. Not only do teachers love and nurture students at MAA, but through the Big-Brother-Big-Sister Family program, students get the chance to care for the wellbeing of others outside their class.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸 𝗶𝗻 𝗣𝗵𝗼𝘁𝗼𝘀: It was all about staying drug free last week as we celebrated Red Ribbon week. The week culminated with a presentation by DARE officers Leake and Rutherford from Memphis Police Department. DARE is an acronym for Drug Abuse Resistance Education.

𝟭𝘀𝘁 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗲𝗹: Congratulations to our high achieving students with all A's (Principal Honor Roll), all A's and B's (Honor Roll), and those scoring in the top 10 percent nationally on the NWEA MAP test. Way to Go!

It's Favorite Color Day and its like a flower garden at school! What color are you cheering for?

𝐅𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐫 𝐃𝐚𝐲 is Wednesday, Sept. 21st. Wear your favorite color to school! Head to Toe! If you are not participating, wear your regular school uniform!
