Memphis College of Art proudly presents the class of 2020 in Intrepidly Yours: The Spring 2020 BFA Exhibition. The exhibition will be on view through February 2021.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we are unable to hold our traditional in-person exhibition celebrating our degree candidates this spring. This is particularly poignant as Memphis College of Art is closing its doors after 84 years this summer.

This is our final graduating class and our final BFA exhibition. The work represented spans many genres and mediums and shows the multifaceted interests and skills of our students. It is a culmination of the achievements of the final 33 students who will receive a BFA from Memphis College of Art.

We welcome you to virtually explore and enjoy!

Our Memphis College of Art legacy website and catalog are now live at memphiscollegeofart.com. This website will remain up indefinitely after our closure next month. It has links to transcripts for alumni, guides alumni to our MCA Alumni page, and houses the MCA Legacy Catalog, which celebrates the history of our institution.

To view the catalog, click "View Catalog" on the website. The catalog is best viewed full-screen on a monitor, so please click the full-screen symbol for better viewing. You can zoom in on a mobile device, but a desktop or laptop is best. There is also an option to download the catalog to view off of the web. We are exploring print-to-order hard copy options and we will update the website should that become available.

MCA welcomed Master Swordsmith Taro Asano to our campus! Taro is a certified Japanese bladesmith based in the city of Hashima who studied under the former Fujiwara Kanefusa, the 25th generation in a sword-making family with over 800 years of history.

MCA Senior Aaron Boyd traveled to Japan last year to study with Taro. Aaron's trip and Taro's demo and talk were made possible by generous donations from the Hohenberg and Panton families in partnership with the Metal Museum.

Following his lecture at MCA, Taro will give a demonstration at the Metal Museum this evening. We were honored to hear from Taro today!
