Dear CPL Families,

This school year has been one for the record books. Please read a few of our accomplishments below:

CPL third graders moved from 7% mastery in ELA on TN Ready last year to 16% mastery in 2023 – an increase of 228%!
81% of first graders ending the year on grade level – a CPL record
CPL record school average growth of 1.9 years in math in 4th grade
Record number of students reaching their CEG goal in reading in 4 different grades
46% of 4th graders at grade level in language – a CPL record
2.3 years of average growth in science – a CPL record

You guys did an amazing job this year. Well done.

The next distribution will be tomorrow, May 20th from 10:00am-11:00am.

Families will receive a month’s supply of diapers, wipes, and period pack per child, while supplies last.

A few CPL 4th graders had the opportunity to travel with peers from CPD to Little Rock, Arkansas today. Here are a few pictures of their adventures.

Tomorrow is MAP Reward Day!!!! We have finally reached the end of regular testing. If your scholar was absent on test day, we are offering makeup test tomorrow through next Thursday.

Students who met ALL of their MAP goals have received an invitation to tomorrows Color Party. Students with an invitation may dress in the color of their choice and bring a matching snack. No snack…No worries! We will have a few goodies for them to enjoy!

Students who met 3 out of 4 goals get to dress out of uniform.

Students who met 2 out of 4 goals will have extra recess.

Students who met 1 out of 4 goals will have a popsicle treat with their lunch.

What teacher doesn’t love a snack break? Isn’t it even better 2 days in a row!?!

Have you ever got to sign a wall!?! Well, scholars who met their MAP Goals did. Shoutout to Columbia 2…the entire class met their MAP Language Goal!

Help us celebrate the teachers at CPL!

CPL students and staff celebrated the end of TNReady Test with a Block Party! Students showed up (99% test rate) and out everyday for 2 weeks. Parents, we appreciate your support.

Monday, we will begin MAP testing.

Striving, Thriving, Reaching Level 5!

With only 21 days left in the school year, 57% of CPL scholars are currently eligible to participate in our end-of-year attendance incentive! Check with your scholars to see if they received an invitation and keep the absences at 14 or fewer to remain eligible.

Weekly attendance letters will also be coming home today so that you're informed of where your scholar stands with their attendance for the year.

We appreciate Mrs. Henderson and Ms. Holt for all that they do!

Remember, tomorrow is Day 2 of TNReady testing.

PK-1st grade scholars enjoyed hunting eggs and fun Easter activities last week. What a great way to end the week!
