Through Kaleidoscope, our creative arts program, students will be provided a venue for “creative expression through the arts coupled with technology” in courses such as Digital Design, Animation, Music Production, etc. Our students will also participate in a built in intervention period that will allow them to gain the needed enrichment or remediation to promote academic success. The learning experience will “begin with the end in mind” by showing each student the end product first to make their educational experiences more meaningful and relevant. Beginning with the end in mind allows students and instructors to set goals for which to strive. This teaching model lends itself to encouraging success in the fact that the goal is set first and the plan is to reach that goal is developed. Our school's overall goal is to produce successful citizens who will contribute to society by being well-rounded individuals with a sense of pride in themselves and their community and will be ready to further their education to compete in the global world. Southern Avenue Charter Middle School's Motto “no excuse is acceptable and no amount of effort is adequate until proven effective” indicates that there are high expectations for students and instructors. Southern Avenue Charter Middle School will expose students to 21st Century high tech careers. After our students explore these 21st Century high tech education at Southern Avenue Middle; further their academic training in high school and college; they will be prepared to live in any county or city in the world and compete in this global economy
