Yesterday was a very busy day for PDO. We had visits with Santa and Mrs. Claus, dress rehearsal for our Christmas program, pizza lunch and party time, then the Christmas program, and it was my last day with the children and teachers before I move into "retirement". A fun and happy day but mixed emotions for me. Thank you parents for giving me the opportunity to work with your children these past 4.4 years. God blessed me with a wonderful church to finish out my 30 plus years in ministry.
It's that time of the year. The time when we rehearse our songs, practice coming in and out of the sanctuary getting ready for next weeks performance.
These sweet girls and the happy boy have recently learned how to walk. Oh what new places of interest they have discovered! So much fun to see their development and progress.

Some of our newest and youngest PDO friends. So glad they joined us!
Our first week of fall session got off to a GREAT start. Lots of smiling faces and a few with tears. Loved hearing those little feet coming down the hall. Our fall PDO is going to be sooooooo much fun!
Our summer PDO program ended with a fun week of activities. Bounce house on Tuesday and Waterslide on Thursday. The children had a blast! Looking forward to a great fall starting August 10th.
Our PDO children have enjoyed the theme on transportation. Last Thursday they learned about different kinds of boats. The toddler class took their boats out for a float in the kiddie pool.
It was another fun week in summer PDO learning about airplanes and antique cars. Thank you to Mr. Clay, Caroline's dad, for coming to talk with the boys and girls about his job as a pilot with Southwest Airlines. Thank you to Mr. Phil for bringing by his antique car, a 1972 Ford Torino.
The older classes had a great time last week meeting and visiting with the firemen from fire station 21. Thank you firemen for the great job you do every day. The children also loved meeting Izzy, the dalmatian, and learning about her role with the firemen.
These twin girls might be too small to check out the fire truck up close but that didn't stop them from having a good view from the window!
Our older boys and girls have been learning about emergency vehicles and how they help us. A big thank you to Le Bonheur Hospital for sending one of their ambulance crews out to talk to our boys and girls. They loved seeing inside the ambulance and examining the equipment.
We have a sweet, fun loving group of 4's and 5's in our summer program. Summer days are so much fun!
Yum, Yum! It's lunch time for our young toddlers. Bring on the food please. Our older toddlers are coming back from playground time ready for a cool drink. Smiles and happy faces in every room. We love summer PDO!
Our summer session got off to a great start last week. The children are learning about the many means of transportation and how they have changed through the years. From horses and wagons to bikes, cars, trains, and airplanes we are a nation that likes to be on the move. Next week our local fire station will be bringing over the ladder truck. At the end of June one of our dads, who is a pilot with FedEx, will be coming to talk with the children about flying airplanes. In July the Collierville antique car enthusiasts are giving us a peek at their antique cars. It's going to be a fun summer session!!!!
