Hey Memphis does anyone need a side hustle or a way to get some extra money?
I’m looking for run-down looking houses in your area, and I will pay you $12 per hour to find them. Your job is to find 15-20 houses per hour of driving that meet the following criteria.
Examples of houses that you would look for and send to me:
Stuffed-full mailboxes
Broken or boarded up windows
Tarp on the roof or falling-off gutters
Visually in bad shape
Vacant
Tall grass and/or ignored landscaping
Handicap ramp
Window unit air-conditioning units
Hasn’t been sold in the previous 2 years
I’ll give you a specific area to drive. You’ll be able to find 15-20+ houses per hour in these neighborhoods over the next week, and I’ll pay you every Friday.
Please click on the link https://dealmachine.com/team/behonest to register with our team and complete the training if you’re interested.

[08/10/16]   TWO FALL/SPRING FELLOWSHIP OPPORTUNITIES - DEADLINE - AUGUST 24TH!

2016-2017 RHODES ENVIRONMENTAL FELLOWSHIPS
(Each position is 8 hrs. a week at $9.70 an hr. for 15 weeks per fall/spring semester)

FOOD SECURITY FELLOWSHIP
(1 POSITION OPEN)
The Food Security Fellowship provides an interdisciplinary platform to educate about how food is grown, the benefits of sustainable growing practices and the cultural history associated with the Memphis foodscape. Currently, Memphis is at an ironic paradox - we are the hungriest city yet the most obese. So how does a community overcome these historical and devastating social, economic and health phenomena? We believe that our student-driven food-based project is uniquely positioned to help combat the issues of food awareness and access not only a college campus but within the surrounding communities (many lack healthy and affordable food and are labeled by the USDA as “food deserts”). During the fall and spring semesters, the Food Security fellows (two) be expected to participate in three areas within this community-building food initiative:
1) assist Rhodes Eats with tending to the Rhodes on-campus community garden - planting and weeding while researching effective permaculture practices;
2) help manage the Overton Park Community Farmers Market and Cooper Young Community Farmers Market;
3) cultivate relationships with community gardeners/farmers and also identify ways that Rhodes students can collaborate effectively within these community gardening and farmers market networks;
4) collect ethnographic data for project evaluating the social, economic and health impacts of farmers markets.

URBAN FORESTRY FELLOWSHIP
(1 POSITION OPEN)
The Midtown Urban Forestry Fellowship focuses on the cultural and biological significance of urban forests within Memphis. In collaboration with faculty at Rhodes and staff from the Overton Park Conservancy, the fellows will aid in assessing the health of Overton Park’s old growth forest in order to develop a comprehensive management plan for the forest. Comprehensively, the fellows will engage in an invaluable pedagogical and research experience to understand the significance of urban forests within the 21st century.
During this time period, the fellows will be expected to participate in two areas:
1) Conducting Geographic Information Systems (GIS) mapping of Overton Park’s forest features, such as the forest canopy, species composition, and invasive species.
2) Gathering historic data and combining digitized historic maps with the GIS data from both locales.
3) Contribute to the re-certification of the Rhodes College Level IV Arboretum

To apply, email Prof. Kimberly Kasper the following items: 1) a resume or CV; 2) an unofficial transcript; 3) a letter (1-2 pages) detailing why you are interested in the fellowship and how your previous experiences (academic and/or nonacademic) relate to this fellowship, and 4) contact information for a professor who could provide a reference on your behalf (you do not need to submit any letters of recommendation). Review of applications will begin on AUGUST 24th 2016 at NOON.

Activities include weeding, mowing, harvesting, planting, preserving food, milking and caring for animals. The intern would also have opportunities to participate in the daily life of the school for two weeks and participate in an informal intern exchange with two other nearby farms.
