Hello thank you for what you are doing for people
I'm writing this in hopes that someone administration will read it. My name is Simon Gordon, and I have been a patient at Church Health Center for several yrs now and I have been on the same daily regiment of medicine for over a year now. I called in a prescription refill of all 4 of my meds and when I went to pick them up they informed me that one of them (clonazepam) was out of refills, and that they had tried to call upstairs to get them to add refills and they wouldn't. They (pharmacy) called and informed me that I had to make an appointment to see my doctor before I could get any refills on my clonozepam. I called and made an appointment, and the first available was Dec. 9th, a month out. I made the appointment and asked the desk to message my doctor and ask her to fill the prescription for a month's worth, until I could see her on the 9th. The nurse responded to the desk and still refused to fill my prescription. This prescription is a vital part of my daily life and I have been without it for a week now and can feel the effects. As I stated earlier, my daily regiment has not changed in over a yr and their refusal to fill this scrip is mind boggling. They are forcing a patient to be without their meds FOR A MONTH when they made an attempt to be seen asap?? Is this what call consider being doctors? This is absolutely absurd to leave someone without their necessary meds for an entire month. Hopefully this isn't the stance of the administration of the Church Health Center.
I am a Brain Tumor Survivor. A Glioblastoma Multiforme Grade 4. I was diagnosed on July 22, 2013. My prognosis was 14 months. I have been doing research on cancer since December 2013. You must kill the Cancer Stem Cells, they are 1% of the tumor. Chemotherapy and radiation is good for shrinking the tumor but it leaves the Cancer Stem Cells. If you don't get rid of the Cancer Stem Cells it will metastasize. It might not be immediately but it will metastasize. A perfect analogy is this. If you weeding you garden and don't go down and take the roots out the weeds will grow back. The easiest way to kill the Cancer Stem Cells is in your grocery store. Turmeric, Ginger, Cayenne Pepper, Blueberries, Strawberries, Cinnamon, Coconut Oil, Black Seed Oil, Avocados all kill the Cancer Stem Cells

It wasn't the first time I stayed up late for Church Health, and it probably won't be the last. Please consider making a Giving Day gift to Church Health today. #givechurchhealth

Church Health Giving Day Song

Sing-a-long to the Church Health Giving Day Song

When you want to give some money, because it makes you feel good.
And you look around for somebody, to take your gift and do something good.
Well, for you I have a story, that will help you find some meaning.
Giving to Church Health’s a really good feeling to have.

CHORUS
Oh….Giving Day is here and it makes me want to sing.
Giving Day is here – yes it’s my most favorite thing.
Giving Day is something everybody can get in...
Yes, supporting Church Health and our ministries is always a win!

We have urgent care every morn, for the sick and hurt to be seen.
We have family care all day long, for the young and old and between.
We have specialists vol-un-teer both here and through the city….
Giving to Church Heath’s a really good feeling to have.

We have dental care and eye care, and counselors and PT’s.
We have social work and nurses, and nutritionists and NP’s.
Our clinics work together to provide whole person healing.

We’re teaching healthy cooking in our kitchen and our website.
We provide children programming to grow them safe, healthy and alright.
We work with faith communities, to connect health in their ministries.
Giving to Church Health’s a really good feeling to have.

You don’t need a lot of money to help support the work that we do.
Just the price of your daily coffee, given monthly makes our plans true.
Or you can honor someone you love, or remember someone special.

We are FOUR days away from our 4th annual Giving Day. Gifts of all sizes add up to make a big impact on patients, families and the entire Memphis community. We are grateful that you will be part of this exciting day.

Here’s the good news: Any gifts to Church Health on July 27 will be MATCHED by an anonymous donor.

Give well so our community can live well. By investing in essential care for those who may not otherwise have access, you have a direct impact on people’s lives, and ensure our community thrives.

For example, $25 covers ingredients for a diabetic patient to learn to cook healthier meals in our nutrition classes. $50 provides safe, nurturing childcare for a little boy whose parents are seeing a doctor in our clinic. $100 helps a self-employed contractor gain access to a specialist like a cardiologist or orthopedist. You help to make it possible for Memphians to access the quality care we all need to live our lives with dignity and vitality.

Visit www.churchhealth.org/givingday2021 for more information on how you can help multiply the impact of the lives we change by using your own social media and stories.

With hope for healing,
Scott
