Field Trips at a glance! 🥳

First Semester field trips are reserved for juniors and seniors. We will open up field trips to sophomores in the spring semester.

Incase anyone wanted to know where we will be traveling to this year - here is the list of field trips!

Please grab a permission form outside the counseling office on the bulletin board.

Requirements: Must be passing all classes with a C or better! No excuses. Ms. Norton is going by what is in Skyward - not, “Mr. Johnny hasn’t put in my missing grades, yet.”

Please have your permission form turned into Ms. Norton by August 23rd. Every teacher must have signed your permission form. If not, the form will be tossed out. 🥲

Please note that if your only form of transportation to the school is bus, then this trip is not a good fit. There will be more options to come.

The bus to Austin Peay will be leaving at 6:45am SHARP! 💛

You can complete your TN Promise application through the TSAC portal. The expectation is 100% of the senior class completing this!

You have your FIRST OFFICIAL senior class event Tuesday, July 30th at 6:00pm. This is where students and families will receive lots of information about their senior year!

Be there or be square!

2024 Senior Class - if you applied for the Tipton county scholarship but have not emailed Ms. Sealy your proof of college attendance, you will not receive this scholarship. This is an EASY $500.

Class of 2024, 79.70% of your class has COMPLETED the FAFSA. This means STUDENT AND PARENT have BOTH completed their portions of the FAFSA.

We give information as it is given to us and we recently found that the deadline for TN PROMISE FAFSA has been EXTENDED to August 1st.

If you need assistance and find that you probably should have done the FAFSA but did not, don’t hesitate to email Ms. Norton at [email protected] and she will follow up with you. She is out of the office so calling her phone will be ineffective for the summer.

FINAL REMINDER SENIORS

If you or your parent haven’t completed the FAFSA, the deadline is May 15th.

This will make you ineligible for TN Promise.

TN promise pays for TCAT, Community College … even if you plan to not go, do it incase plans change. Once the due date passes, there will be nothing that can be done.

ATTENTION SENIORS:

FINAL TRANSCRIPTS - Scan the QR code for final transcripts. Anything that’s scanned from this point forward will be final transcripts.

Attention students and parents!

A friendly reminder to any of our dual enrollment seniors - be sure to request transcripts from the universities that you have taken classes with while in high school. If you need assistance, contact Ms. Norton in her office.

DISCLAIMER: Your High School transcripts will only be accepted by post-secondary institutions to prove that you have met HIGH SCHOOL graduation requirements.

Post-Secondary institutions will not accept your college credit from your high school transcript. You must have your DSCC AND UTM transcripts sent to the institution you are attending!!!

Some of our seniors had a special day with TCAT Northwest at the Covington Campus. They were able to sign their letter of intent and meet professors that they will be seeing, soon!

We are so incredibly happy for these students, immensely proud of them, and we want nothing but the best for them. 💜💛

Graduation is around the corner - the journey has just begun, students! We look forward to seeing them succeed way after they leave our doors, but until then, we will continue to equip our students with the tools and post secondary plans that they need to be successful!

This is another FAFSA reminder. Please make plans to COMPLETE the FAFSA for your senior. It requires both your senior and one parent if considered a dependent to sit down and complete the form. This is such a vital portion of your student's journey and really impacts the trajectory of their post-secondary education. You may be one to believe that your student doesn't need to do it - but please remember, plans change, and the FAFSA is not graceful. TCAT Signing Day is THURSDAY - for the students that are participating, you need to be there at 9am!
