Today would be the 97th birthday of one of the most important musicians of the 20th century, Miles Davis! Born in 1926, Davis started playing trumpet at age 9. Later on, he spent time studying at Juilliard before eventually going on to collaborate with some of the all-time biggest names in jazz, including Charlie Parker, John Coltrane, and Herbie Hancock! He had a profound influence on all styles of jazz, especially bebop, cool jazz, and fusion. His album "Kind of Blue" is still one of the most popular jazz albums ever!
