Take it from the pros, you can do a lot of drills with a tennis ball! Very tennis specific, excellent for coordination, teaches players to get into an athletic stance and can improve players movement significantly! If you are not quite sure how to train, a safe bet is to do a few things that the pros do, which are beneficial to your training program! There is a common theme here and a very specific last exercise MANY pros do right be fire they take the match court!

Here are some of the best double handed backhands on the WTA tour. Kvitova, Sharapova, Muguruza, Halep, Kuznetsova, Pavlyuchenkova, Radwanska, Konta, Williams, Pliskova, and Kerber. They all have slightly different take backs, some with a loop, Kuzzy hit off the left sided only and a couple simply drop the racquet head down at the back. Why style do you like and why?

The Importance Of Junior Strength Development

Incorporating fundamental strength exercises into a junior players training routines is vital for long term physical success. We have seen too many young players stop playing due to re-occurring and major injuries.
Most of them can be prevented with the right training pathway! If you are worried about injuring a young player by doing strength training exercises, if you follow a good training system, you have nothing to worry about.

Starting with isolated/ isometric exercises and progressing through to body weight movement exercises will lead to a good platform for lifting load (weights) at an older age.
Build the right way once and it is there for life!

Two ball drill highlighting recover position. (Orange cone indicates recovery spot) Coach Sarah demonstrated this drill for one of her players because she wasn't getting back far enough. First ball- Player hits a heavy down the line forehand and recovers to an aggressive position to take advantage of the weak crosscourt return from the opponent. By recovering close to the baseline the player can take advantage of the short ball quickly and take time away from the other player. With the offensive recovery position, it gives them the chance to hit a mid-court forehand off opponents middle ball rather than a backhand from behind the baseline.
