SWIFT Analysis.... who holds you accountable?
In my 20-years as a trainer / 10-years teaching, there's one glaring flaw...
Who's holding you accountable to Show Up 20-minutes before every session?
Who gets on your ass for being on your phone during a session?
Who challenges your weekend binging & partying?
No one. It's you vs the mirror.
Every month Show Up Fitness challenges you to analyze your SWIFT- Strengths, Weaknesses, Implementation/ Improvements / Innovation, Fear, Threat / Trends / Trajectory.
Putting pen 🖊 to paper 📝. Posting sticky notes all over your room, truck and kitchen of what you ARE GOING TO DO.
I am going to challenge EVERY trainer TODAY to post a photo similar to this in your main post. Write out what you want out of life. Don't be fu***ng generic.
I want to hear what scares you.
My biggest fear is settling for mediocrity. We have 3 awesome gyms, a great team of instructors, trainers & over 250 online interns and are making a HUGE impact, but it's not enough. Our industry needs a complete change. No one is up for this task. Every one else I see is settling for their little pot of gold, I don't want to look back and say MAN I WISH I WOULD HAVE DONE THAT.
There's only one way to find out....
SHOW UP EVERY DAMN DAY.
Action > victimhood.
I'm sick and tired of all the victim trainers who complain about IT'S TOO HARD. No it's not. You are just taking the easy way out. You are settling. You are scared of tapping into your potential, you're settling.
I choose to SHOW UP.
Tag me. Share your SWIFT. Let's tap into our potential TOGETHER!!!

SWIFT Analysis.... who holds you accountable?
Want to become a QUALIFIED Level 1 coach? One portion of the test is to be able to explain the difference within a unilateral movement what muscles are being emphasized as seen here.
⬇️ Comment below if you know the right answer & tag a trainer!
90% of trainers quit within 12-months of getting certified. No S**T SHERLOCK, they take a simple 100-question multiple choice test and think they know how to train. 🙄
The entry standards to health & fitness are WHY THE WORLD HAS AN OBESITY PROBLEM... too much misinformation from unqualified influencers.
Not when you SHOW UP!
To become a Level 1 coach you need to know the 17-shoulder muscles, 20-lower body muscles (quads, hamstrings, adductors, glutes & 7-calves), 8-core movement patterns with main & assisting movers, design a full body workout utilizing the CCA method in front of a panel of 3-coaches (ZOOM or in-person) all within 10-minutes.
Miss one muscle. FAIL.
Mispronounce the muscle. FAIL.
Design a stability ball workout or BF 🍆 a foam roller... FAIL 🤡
We're holding trainers to a higher standard. It's time for a revolution of QUALITY.
Personal trainers ARE turning their passion for fitness into a SUSTAINABLE CAREER.
It begins by SHOWING UP...
PS- you don't need a certification. In the last 30-days, we've had Level 1 coaches hired at EQUINOX, Lifetime, Crunch & other boutique gyms.
Qualified > Certified.
90% of certified personal trainers quit within 12-months of getting certified, so why follow the path towards failure? 🐑 😡
Think about it for a second 🧠
We want to learn how to HELP PEOPLE & TRAIN THEM? Yet the path towards "success" is studying a 800+ page textbook without supervision, without training, without being able to ask questions and then gain "experience" by practicing on people like they're lab rats 🐀 ?
That's why statistically speaking YOU WILL not be training 12-months after you get one of these: NASM, ACE, ISSA, ACSM, NSCA, NCSF or any other piece of paper.
How to make training into a career:
1- Read THE BOOK to learn from people who have made it. How to Become A Successful Personal Trainer (over 250 reviews on Amazon read about it & see what qualified looks like)
2- Gain hands on experience / learn the craft of the trade from experienced professionals.
3- Learn functional anatomy & programming. The average trainer lacks confidence & a foundation in movement. Focus on these two areas to become elite.
4- Become A Level 1 Coach by presenting in front of a board of coaches your competency, not by answering a multiple choice test which literally means absolutely NOTHING.
Qualified > certified

Who's joining us in PHILLY???
A banana 🍌, blueberry muffin 🫐 & shot of bourbon walk into a bar, what do the have in common? 🤔
They're all 70-calories and can be part of a HEALTHY DIET!!! 🤤
Enter panty & jockstrap bundling 😢
Dr. L***a says "Bananas & fruit are bad because of FRUCTOSE!" Do you even know how fructose is digested? Can you explain to me what fructolysis is? Fruit is magical and should be eaten daily. Dr. L***a why don't you go stick a banana up your 🍑.
Dr. Di****ed says all processed foods are bad & packed with sugar! Sugar is addictive and feeds cancer- You need to eliminate it all! Hey Doc, what good does it to do to demonize food? One blueberry muffin doesn't make you fat, eliminating something that you enjoy for months resulting in binge behavior creates yo-yo dieting and unhealthy weight loss & gain. Eat your blueberry muffins in moderation; focus on lifting heavy s**t & a positive mindset.
Dr. Square says booze is bad! Well, doc, you're correct. Alcohol is a carcinogen & not healthy if consumed in copious amounts or for those who are addicted, but a lot of people drink, so let them enjoy their life as Frank Sinatra did 🥃.
Any trainer, nutritionist or doctor who says you have to eliminate these, is a fu***ng idiot. All calories matter & any combination of excuses is bad for your health.
Today at 8am we will be discussing the science & psychology of the impacts of these harmful sayings part of THE BODY MASS EQUATION 🧠.
If you want to become a QUALIFIED Trainer, DM us to sit in on a class LIVE & In-person (LA/SD/Austin.) Classes are recorded & geared towards becoming a level 1 coach.
What's your choice out of these 3 options, fruit, sweets or booze? 🎂 🥃 🍎
📕 THE BOOK is almost at 250 5-star reviews. Read it, you'll understand the vision ⭐️.
😡 90% of trainers quit within a year of getting certified. Why would we encourage more motivated fitness enthusiast to pursue their passion with the likelihood of failure??? 🤔
💫 There's a change needed and that's why analyze everything via a SWIFT analysis 🤩
💪🏽 What are your strengths? Weaknesses? Things you can improve, implement & innovate? Fears? Who's at your table- Who's challenging you to become better? What are the current trends?
💥 If you want to become a qualified personal trainer, SHOW UP tomorrow 8am pst to think deeper & discuss your SWIFT. I'll tell you mine if you tell me yours 😉
✋ Who's tired of being mediocre? Who wants to become the best person in the mirror ever Imaginable? Let's discuss more tomorrow! Comment below QUALIFIED > CERTIFIED & I'll send you a link to tomorrows zoom!
In my opinion, NASM is the least credible certification in the fitness industry & I've taken them all. Their science is outdated (see our YouTube with debunking movement screens, text neck & the syndromes with scientific citations), but their programming via the OPT model is just horrendous 🤮 .
📺 Watch our most recent YouTube breaking down one of their programs:
1- Clients do not want to NOR SHOULD THEY foam foam for 10-20 minutes (they have them warming up for 5-10 minutes & repeating at the end for another 5-10 minutes.) Don't scare your clients with movement screens, help them move better.
2- Unstable surface training does not increase stability. It sounds cool, PROPRIOCEPTIVE ENRICHED ENVIRONMENT, but they'd be better off overloading movement patterns.
3- 0-60 sec rest periods to optimize hypertrophy is suboptimal. The mechanisms for hypertrophy (let's get more STD's) should focus on tension with 2-3 minutes of rest MINIMUM.
4- The exercise selection is exactly that, random exercises. Choose 4-8 exercises that you are really good at yourself & teach your clients them with daily undulating periodization (DUP- varied loads throughout the week.)
🔥 If you're a new trainer and got suckered into a that's ok. Pass it ASAP and then focus on learning functional anatomy, programming and how to grow a business.
✍🏼 Here's the template we use for our Show Up Fitness Level 1 Coach that'll help set you up for client success & I discuss in my book How to Become A Successful Personal Trainer:
1- Core, Core, Accessory
2- Core, Core, Accessory
3- Core, Core, Accessory
*4- Metcon / Game / Cardio *IF TIME PERMITS.
If ANYONE WERE to be a critic of the "best / worst" certifications it should be someone who has them all... I've taught NASM, ACSM, NSCA and have tested for them along with ACE, ISSA & a few others.
😢 If your foam roller b***r 🍆 is offended, the likelihood of you being open to other superior methods is low, so go back to BFin stability balls 😂 🤡.
⬇️ What are some questions you have about programming? Leave your case examples below and we will address during our next class ONLINE. Next week we start a new semester 💪🏽
Tomorrow we're having a special guest for our LIVE internship class at 8am pst w/ founder & top trainer at Equinox. Learn what it takes to becomes the best!!
PS...most certified trainers don't have what it takes to make it in this industry as they're victims looking for a quick buck & handouts. Qualified trainers set BHAG's like Chris, focus on helping others, always be learning and becoming the best version of themselves!

😡 90% of trainers quit within 12-months of getting certified, why would Show Up Fitness follow the trend? We are excited to announce the release of our Level 1 & 2 Coach 🥇
👀 Our vision is to change the fitness industry by making personal training into a career & being respected amongst other health professions. Studying by yourself an 800+ textbook without guided supervision sets individuals up for failure, BUT it does allow for associations to generate millions in profits because of the ignorance of the consumer, "I need a certification to become a trainer." According to who? As a gym owner I know this to be false as I've hired numerous trainers who were NOT certified, but they were QUALIFIED. Read more about QUALIFIED VS CERTIFIED ⬇️
☠️ I cannot tell you how many clients we've worked with who've been hurt by certified trainers: rhabdomyolysis, torn rotator cuff, acl tears, low back pain & who've passed out because the trainer tries to annihilate them. Just because a person is certified, it doesn't make them a qualified fitness professional- guided supervised experience does!
🥇 This is why we developed our Level 1 & 2 Coach. Our online platform is set up for you to learn about functional anatomy (Hip & shoulder), movement competency (core patterns) & how to program. We have weekly LIVE calls that are recorded so you can ask questions and learn in an environment with other excited & motivated fitness professionals. We have over 100-videos with the best content about movement on the web. Within 2-months of our program, I'll personally guarantee MONEY BACK that you'll learn more than any certification & be able to make this into a career.
🧠 You'll learn how to grow your business online & social media via & & review anatomy, programming, & regressions / progressions with our online instructors .fitness
📕 What are the requirements to become a Level 1/2 Coach? Read our blog w/ LINK IN STORY & WEBSITE!
⬇️ Comment below what you enjoy most about the ONLINE / IN-PERSON INTERNSHIP ??? If you haven't watched a class, comment a topic of interest & I'll DM you a video 🤠
🏆Programming can be a little tricky if you don't understand functional anatomy, movement competency or know how to systemize your clients workout in a confined area.
✍🏼 In this blog & video we teach you how to do a full body workout with a client using the movement patterns & how to regress / progress accordingly (on website & YouTube.)
🥉What are some areas you struggle with when it comes to programming??
👴 First off, I don't like "old" or "senior citizen" and you sure as hell don't need a senior citizen specialization 🤡 to train a client.
🥇 Here's for you This is one of the MANY reasons to join our online & in-person internship....
💪🏽 Dana passed her NASM-CPT & felt ill prepared to train her clients (anyone else feel this way about your certification ✋??) She signed up for our ONLINE internship program & wanted to review a program for her clients. I decided to put together an article with 3-programs for a 92-year YOUNG & 74-year young client- CHECK OUT OUR BLOG SHOWUPFITNESS.COM & in our story.
🏅 Now that we are offering our Level 1 coaching program, I GUARANTEE that we will make a change to the dreaded statistic of 90% of trainers quitting within 12-months of getting certified (I think it's a lot higher), but NOT WHEN YOU SHOW UP!
🏆 Who's interested in becoming a SHOW UP FITNESS LEVEL 1 COACH???
🤡Ask 10-trainers what it takes to become a successful trainer and they'll give you 10-different answers. Why not ask 50? That's what I did in my book How To Become A Successful Personal Trainer and guess what? Not a single one mentioned a certification 🤩.
Checkout THE BOOK 🤠 on Amazon for over 200 5-star reviews. You'll find the keys to success are:
* Always be learning
* Hands on learning
* Mentorship / Internship
* Know functional anatomy
* Always saying YES
* Being relentless
* Understand programming
* ALWAYS BE SHOWING UP!
😡 90% of CERTIFIED trainers quit within 12-months of getting certified, no 💩, they didn't READ THE BOOK!!!
