Black history is American history.

As you know, part of our educational DNA at CWC is a focus on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. While this work is done within classrooms and whole school events at CWC West Valley and across our region, we strive to make it accessible in the home as well, as even adults are learners and partners in this work.

These workshops are focused on talking about race and racism with children, speaking up against racism and bias in the moment, reading books with a critical literacy lens, and using stories to build a sense of one's cultural identity and pride.

These workshops are being made available with a donation-based registration, as to not exclude anyone from being able to participate. Check out the flyer for more information. The next workshop is quickly approaching - February 6th. Link in bio

Today is Giving Tuesday, a spirited day of generosity. CWC LA is launching our DEI Expansion Fund, an initiative to build on existing strategies across the region to amplify our DEI work. Our current initiatives are in motion for this school year, including our robust search for a regional Director of DEI. By building an additional base of support and creating new partnerships around DEI, the Expansion Fund will reinforce, deepen, and sustain our investments in our DEI priorities across all school communities over multiple years.
