The excursion to see the MATE ROV International Competition at LBCC Saturday June 24th is on!

We have an open invitation to watch Submarine ROV teams from across the planet compete at Long Beach City College!!!
This gives us the chance to see presentations and interact with the teams, judges, and event staff. Time to have fun in this intense competition environment, see some awesome ROV builds, meet students just like us from all around the world, and most importantly, find out how teams are going about their designs, learn from their progress, mistakes and experience...let's have fun, ask questions, and maybe get a little bit wet ;-).
This is likely the last time in our academic lives that the ROV competition will be so close, let alone our University's town. Let's not miss this opportunity!!!!
Where/ When:
Meet in front of CSULB Rec Center @ 8:45am
(you can park for free on Palo Verde Ave next/ across from the Rec Center)
We leave for LBCC at 9am, parking is free at LBCC. Admission is free. We're planning on staying til noon and maybe doing lunch afterwards, but you're welcome to stay and watch more of the competition or leave whenever you have to.
What to Bring:
-cool clothes for hot weather which still make a good impression as we're hoping to enter this competition next year.
-sunscreen/hat (competition is outside at pool)
- a snack (don’t know about availability of food during the competition)
-$ to do lunch afterwards if you're up to it
- curiosity to ask lots of questions of current competitors
- an attitude to REPRESENT our club and CSULB
So come out, bring your friends, and we'll arrange the carpool once everyone arrives at CSULB. ...see you saturday!

Thanks to the tireless efforts and persistence of many in design and engineering, an entry prototype of a servo powered claw/gripper is ready to be mounted on the ROV submarine. Nice work team. With the club's 3d printer online, a new era in EAT projects is upon us with many more good things to come. Happy holidays.
