The Health Resource Center is located in the Student Health Services (SHS), across the street from the nursing department.

We are located at the corner of Beach Drive and Merriam Way on the CSULB campus. Our programs are available to all CSULB students and are free of charge. These programs include HIV Testing and Counseling, Peer Nutrition Counseling, Sexual Health Awareness Workshops, Pregnancy Options Counseling, Men's Health Workshop, SHARE: STI Counseling Program, Building Bridges Support Program for Sexual Assault Survivors, and Gardasil Vaccine Patient Assistance Program.

***Qualifications:
*Must have EXCELLENT public speaking skills!!

*Must have EXCELLENT customer service skills!

*Must be able to provide a non-judgmental atmosphere for clients.

*Must have EXCELLENT written and verbal communication skills!

*Must be comfortable talking about a wide range of health topics including birth control methods, abortion, sexually transmitted infections, HIV, sexual assault, alcohol, to***co, other drugs, and much more.

*Computer proficiency in the following applications: Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Candidates must be able to work in teams and with minimal supervision and must have good people skills. Graphic design experience is a plus but is not required.

*Must be a CSULB student enrolled in at least 6 units. Must work 12 hours per week.

Daily duties include:
Teaching workshops: Sexual Health, College Health 101, Nutrition, PAUSE, Fitness, and Stress Management; answering phones; scheduling and tracking appointments in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system; greeting and assisting clients; conducting outreach events on campus; conducting classroom presentations on sexual health; maintaining social media accounts; providing information about the Student Health Services, Health Resource Center, and Alcohol, To***co, and Other Drugs program; and other duties as necessary.

Projects include: Becoming certified to teach our workshops: sexual health, stress management, fitness, and nutrition; writing articles for our online newsletter; developing health education materials and marketing materials to promote our programs and services.
