News from our partner, CCEJ: Returning up the Mountain for Building Bridges Camp!
------------------------------------------------------------------------
For more than 30 years, Building Bridges Camp has been a place where young people learn that they can make a powerful change in the world. Over three days, students explore issues of oppression, justice, and the impact those forces have on their daily life, as well as learn strategies for advocating for justice in their schools and communities.
Earlier this month, our phenomenal Building Bridges for Youth team hosted our first in-person Building Bridges Camp in more than two years! 50 youth and 37 adult staff volunteers joined us up the mountain at Pilgrim Pines camp to witness and be part of a transformative experience for our youth participants.
We are grateful to the amazing group of volunteers who dedicated their time and energy to facilitated a life-changing weekend for our youth, and to supporters and sponsors like Toyota TABC and Jack & Binnie Berro & Family, who made our return to in-person Camp this Spring a possibility; thank you!
BONUS: In case you missed it - catch up on our most recent Building Bridges for Youth & Brotherhood Sisterhood Camp Alumni Reunion and watch Desarie & Daniel's conversation about the impact of camp on their lives below or at this link. CCEJ/NCCJ Camp Alumni Reflections - January 2022
