From the the Hi-lo: The Aquarium of the Pacific has joined forces with the Long Beach Opera, Long Beach Symphony, The Long Beach Chorale & Chamber Orchestra and the True Brass Choir to bring a selection of symphony performances this spring.

Last night my wife Nancy and I had the extreme privilege to watch my nephew Gabe Garnett perform in the professional True Brass Choir in Long Beach, CA. From our second row seats we had the chance to see and enjoy every brass and percussion note come to life in pieces by Scott Joplin, John Philip Sousa, and George Gershwin. I was happily transported back to November 1969, and the stage at my Cardinal Dougherty High School in Philadelphia, as they wrapped the evening with an incredible 28 minute Leonard Bernstein Suite from West Side Story...I was in 7th Heaven! Thanks, Gabe, to you and your dedicated fellow musicians for a very memorable evening...can't wait to see you perform June 7th at Aquarium of the Pacific!
The Candy Store comes to you! S.E. Shires will be on campus this afternoon with their NAMM show instruments. These are great horns played by top musicians throughout the country and world. They'll be presenting from 3:00-6:30 in the Jazz Room and Orchestra Room. Come by and see what they have to offer.
