THE COUNTY LINE: Grandview’s Love overcomes tough beginning to life

This is a wonderful story about a family who has been a fixture at Lonedell forever. They’ve stayed active well after their children’s graduations. We at Lonedell are so proud that Travis, Jessica, Kristy and John Love are part of the #r14family. https://www.myleaderpaper.com/sports/the-county-line-grandview-s-love-overcomes-tough-beginning-to/article_d75abe46-98ef-11e9-bc22-fb0999a7510d.html?utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook&utm_campaign=user-share

myleaderpaper.com To look at Travis Love today, you wouldn’t believe how his life began.

Thanks to St. Clair Fire Protection District for keeping our kids extra cool during yesterday's heat!

Summer School Fun at the Farmington Swimming Pool

[06/26/19]   Attention Summer School Parents. The final day of Summer School is Friday, June 28. Students may be signed out beginning at 11:00 am. All students must be signed out by 12:15 pm.
Students in 5-8 will sign for their own attendance reward check.
Students in K-4 must have a parent sign for the attendance reward check. If parents are unable to be present to sign, they may send in a note with the student allowing the check to be sent home. If neither is possible, checks will be mailed.

Thanks again Dana's Shaved Ice! The snow cones and ice creams were a wonderful treat during summer school!

Students will receive a free shaved ice on Thursday, June 20 from Dana's Shaved Ice who will be on campus. If students would like an ice cream instead, they will need to bring $1 for the upgrade!

These Bobcats sure enjoyed the Union Splash and Swim Complex on their field trip last Friday, even if it was a bit chilly.

Congratulations to the St. Louis Blues!

Please be advised that we will be working on our phone lines this evening. You may not be able to reach us via telephone.

Our summer school students were very well entertained and quite amazed by Master Magician D.J. Edwards. Magic is real!

Hey parents and students who are attending, basketball camp starts Monday from 3:15-5:15 in the New Gym. What a great way to sharpen up your skills for next school year. Contact the office with questions.

Due to BAD WEATHER we will be moving the K-3 Purina Farms and 4-8 Elephant Rocks Field Trip to a different date! Sorry for any inconveniences!
We will move the trip to Thursday, June 27th! Since we are moving it, all kids will be welcome to that field trip regardless of attendance.
A reminder that we have two other trips on June 14th and 21st and students will need to be in attendance Monday through Thursday to attend those two trips.
Since we will not have a trip tomorrow, we will do a movie in the classroom tomorrow with popcorn and popsicles!
A reminder that we will have a magician at Lonedell R-14 on Monday, June 10th at 10am. He will have tricks for sale for $3, $5, and $10. Please bring the money in an envelope with the child’s name if they plan to purchase any tricks.

In the fall, the 6th -8th graders participated in the Patriot Pen Essay Contest sponsored by the VFW. This year's theme was "What does the American flag mean to me?". The essay winners are 3rd place Andrea P., second place Riley L., and first place Madison U.

Awards were presented by VFW members Donnie Bay, Beth Atchison, VFW members Karen Banderman, and Jennifer Isgriggs

Our students learned so much about the original one room school house from Mr. Williams. If you know Bob Williams, please thank him for allowing our students to stomp around his property! Shout out to Kimberly Giancola-Long, Finish Line Cafe, and Judy Wagner for their generous donation of time and services!

We are looking for great individuals to join our team as substitutes for the 2019-2020 school year. Visit our website for more information on how to apply. https://lonedell.socs.net/vnews/display.v/SEC/District%20Information%7CHuman%20Resources
