the best advice i can give young or beginning musicians: listen to as much music as you can. listen, listen, and listen more. as much variety as you can, and give it your undivided attention. by being immersed in the art you will speak the language fluently, expand your musical vocabulary, be more spirtually fullfilled, and plant the seeds of passion for your craft. there's no such thing as listening too much.
