Excited to offer virtual and in-person group classes, in addition to private lessons, this summer! Interested? Registration opens this Monday!
- Introduction to Music Theory: New to music or need to brush up on some theory skills? Join one of our weekly sessions to discuss all things music theory, including studies in basic notation, rhythm, harmony, aural skills, and more!
Section 1: 4th-7th grade, Wed. 9:00 AM - 10 AM (Zoom)
Section 2: 8th-12th grade, Wed. 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM (Zoom)
- Advanced Music Analysis: Do you have late intermediate/advanced musical skills and a confident grasp on basic theory? Join this class on Tuesday mornings, from 11:00 AM - 12 PM to discuss formal analysis from a theoretical and philosophical viewpoint. Topics covered will include sonata theory, narrative composition, Fibonacci sequencing, Aristotelian analysis, and other literary and philosophical approaches to understanding music construction.
Meeting Time: Tuesday, 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM (Zoom)
- Music History and Literature: If you are preparing for the Royal Conservatory's Music History I examination or are looking to learn more about composers, this class is for you! We will be using the RCM Music History: An Overview textbook for this class, in addition to exploring other works and composers, including Holocaust musicology, avant-garde music, and early performance practice discussion.
Meeting Time: Tuesday 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM (Zoom)
- Collaborative Piano Camp: Are you interested in jamming out with other musicians this summer? Do you want to learn how to accompany and collaborate as a chamber artist? Join us for a weekly meeting at my home studio on Friday mornings at 11:00 AM! We will have weekly masterclasses, culminating our summer study with a recital in August. Musicians of all skill levels are encouraged to apply!
Meeting Time: Friday 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM, (held at home studio in Leesburg, Virginia; Recital date and location TBA)
