This Year’s Theme - “Blast From The Past”

Very cool moment at the Dance Studio this past week. The older competition group from 10-15 years ago watches this years competition group perform at the Studio! What started out as an Adult Tap Class grew into a reunion of students from years ago. I had no idea this was going to happen. The Adult competition class also decided to perform a number at this years 25th annual recital to be held June 3-4 at the Norway Fine Arts Theater. How appropriate that this years theme is “Blast From The Past”. Welcome back ladies!

Something magical happened last night at Julie’s Top Hat Dance Studio. What started out as an Adult Tap Class with 3 previous dancers turned into a gathering of 20 previous dancers without any prompting from me. They all just heard about it by word of mouth and decided to show up for class! Im overwhelmed!

The year-end recital at Julie’s Top Hat Dance Studio never disappoints the audience…..the students work hard all year to prepare for this opportunity to shine on stage! Congratulations to Olympia Moore from Julie’s Top Hat Dance Studio. Olympia recently participated in Showstopper’s regional dance competition and convention Oct. 16th-18th at the Kalahari Resort in Wisconsin Dells. She performed in the Contemporary category and received a platinum award in the elite competition level. She is a teaching assistant at Julie’s Top Hat and always strives to put her best foot forward. We are extremely proud of her accomplishment.

During this difficult and strange time we felt we needed to recognize our class of 2020 dancers who will sadly be leaving us after this year. Courtney Partello has been dancing for 14 years. Her favorite style of dance is contemporary. “My favorite dance memory is meeting so many new people at Julie’s. Some who are now my best friends !” Courtney will be attending Michigan State University @michiganstateu to major in chemical engineering and potentially minor in dance. Thank you for the memories Courtney, you will be missed! ❤️🎩❤️

During this difficult and strange time we felt we needed to recognize our class of 2020 dancers who will sadly be leaving us after this year. Mary Slagle has been dancing for 15 years. Her favorite style of dance is tap. “My favorite dance memory is winning the “Perfect Pair” award at competition with my favorite duet partner, Paige.” Mary will be attending the University of Wisconsin La Crosse @uwlax to obtain a degree in Radiation Therapy. During this difficult and strange time we felt we needed to recognize our class of 2020 dancers who will sadly be leaving us after this year. Anne Nanninga has been dancing for 15 years. Her favorite style of dance is tap. “My favorite dance memory is going to competition with all my friends and dancing on stage to receive our medals and trophies.” Anne will be attending the University of Wisconsin Greenbay @uwgb to pursue a degree in business management. During this difficult and strange time we felt we needed to recognize our class of 2020 dancers who will sadly be leaving us after this year. Our studio assistant, Paige Chartier, has been dancing for 15 years. Her favorite style of dance is tap. “My favorite dance memory is becoming studio assistant and winning first place at competition. Also making lifelong friendships with my teammates!” Paige will be attending Bellin College @bellincollege to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. Her overall career goal is to eventually obtain a Doctorate of Nurse Anesthesia degree. Thank you for the memories Paige, you will be missed! ❤️🎩❤️

Update for Thursday’s Dance Classes!

I have sent out all of the links to those of you that wrote your emails down on your registration form! There were a few missing, and we will be calling tomorrow morning to collect those! All classes should be set to go for tomorrow. Thank you for being patient as we adapt to virtual learning.

Any classes that did not take place this week will be made up at a later date that we will announce at a later date.

Hello Dance Family!❤️

Just want to touch base and let you all know we are trying our best with switching to virtual learning! We are keeping track of everything in regards to successfully made zooms and what not for classes😊 We are working on out the kinks day by day! Thank you for your patience as we adapt during this interesting time!

In light of the current situation I find it necessary to run the Studio as normally as possible. In order to do this we will be running via virtual learning starting Monday, March 30th. This will continue until we let you know otherwise.

Classes will run like normal -45 minutes per lesson and at your regular class time. Attendance will be taken and you will be able to ask questions and talk to us.

You will be emailed a link. Each class has a different link. I will use the email I have on file. Call or pm me if your email has changed. The important thing is that you receive the link so you can participate in class. Please watch for your email. We may have a few glitches the first week so please be patient with us. If you need to call the Studio the number is 774-5333. See you this week!

COVID-19 Precaution

Dear Parents and Students,

Thank you for being part of the Julie’s Top Hat Dance Studio family. We take very seriously the responsibilities we have to our employees, our dance students and families and to our community. During the past week of events, it has become difficult to determine how best to navigate through these unchartered times we are now in. With very little formal guidelines being provided we must proceed with what we believe are the best decisions at this time.

Julie’s Top Hat has made the decision to extend our scheduled spring break by starting it one week earlier. This extended break will begin Monday, March 16, 2020 and dance will resume on Monday, March 30, 2020. We believe this extended break will allow us more time to understand the local COVID-19 situation and help increase social distancing among our community. In general, this extra time of closure will help to minimize the risk of exposure for our students and families, instructors, and help to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.

We know you may have questions regarding this extended break. March tuition will remain the same as we will be scheduling make-up sessions once dance resumes. Please be patient while we make these arrangements.

Freshman dancer, Alexis DalSanto shares with us why she loves dancing at Julie's Top Hat Dance Studio!

Ever since I started dance when I was 5 years old, I have been drawn to it. I have made a great family at Julie’s Top Hat Dance Studio and they have been a huge part of my life. When I dance, I forget about everything in my life that is stressing me out and just have fun. Being in dance has helped me gain coordination which has helped with my other sports I do during the year. I am so grateful to have a place to go to, to let it all go and let loose with my friends. Can’t wait to start this year!!
