I am asking that everyone please be patient with me. I just came home from the hospital on Saturday and am bed ridden for the next month so I won't be able to do much, but please, if any of you need anything, please get ahold of me!! I can still do the parent advocacy and explain and review your child's IEP and some other stuff. I am going to be doing alot of planning and have tons of stuff in the works, so please stay tuned!! Special request to all you kids returning to school in the next few days: If you see someone who is struggling to make friends or being bullied because he/she doesn't have many friends or because they are shy or not as pretty or not dressed in the most "in" clothes -- PLEASE step up. Say hi or at least smile at them in the hallway. You never know what that person might be facing outside of school. Your kindness might just make a BIG difference in someone's life! PARENTS SHOULD REPOST THIS

Hello everyone!! Sorry it has been a while, but I have been having some personal issues to deal with. There is still alot of planning going on, so bare with me as you may get bombarded with information on upcoming events. Wonderful day today....for all of you that did not come today, you should definately be there tomorrow!! Quemahoning Dam from 12-8!! :)

Had an amazing conference call with our friends at Mysamaris, Inc. Consultants!! Without them, Hand In Hand would not be what it is today!! Thank you all so much!!

For all of those who are interested: Every Friday we will be doing socialization and family bonding groups, so be sure to check out our page every Monday for when and where it will be!! :)

We are back to planning! Please let me know who would be interested in the child mentoring program. We need both meontors and mentees!! Trainging for the mentors will be very soon!! :)

So sorry I couldn't make it to the training tonight. Jonathan had to be picked up from Camp Harmony. He has a strees fracture in his right foot, and poision oak all over his body :( so we were in the ER most of the evening. He is resting now, so I am hoping he will be feeling better tomorrow!!

Sorry there hasn't been many posts, but I am hopefully back. I know it's short notice, but Fun Fridays start tomorrow!! Meet us at Green House Park for an afternoon of sporting fun!!

Just a reminder, the First Aide/CPR Training and Sibling support/socialization group is on July 7th at 6:00 p.m. at FBR in Somerset. Hope to see you all there!!

We all had an amazing time during the Weekend of Fun. For those of you who did not make this one, the next tenative date is July 15-17. Let us know if this date will work for you. More details to follow!!

Rain or shine, the Weekend Of Fun will still be going on. Stop by the Quemahoning Dam on Fri. & Sat starting at 11:00 a.m. Hand in Hand can have a great time in the rain or the sun shine!! :)

If anyone would like to spend Friday June 17th and Saturday June 18th with us, please feel free to stop by the Quemahoning Dam from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. as Hand In Hand and Family Behavioral Resources have tons of family geared activities planned!!

Ok peeps......activities planned and include sporting events, nature walks, playground time, scavenger hunts and much more. Family Behavioral Health will have volunteer TSS's and BSC's to help with these events, but it is on a avolunteer basis. If you do have community hours for TSS services, please have your TSS's work during the hours of 11a-7p on Friday and Saturday.

For those of you who may have forgotten to RSVP for the Family Camping Trip, please do so by tomorrow!! You could either spend the night camping, or just RSVP to come to the activities Family Behavioral Resources and Hand In Hand will be providing!! :)

Heading out to Family Behavioral Resources in Somerset for the support group meeting. Hope you all can make it!! :)

We are looking for teenage volunteers/mentors. We will soon be starting our mentor's program and would like to get a general idea of who would be interested. The PEAL Center will come and train the mentors, then each person will be assigned a mentee. Certificates of completion will be given to those who attend the training. This will be a great experince and will look great on college applications.

We need some volunteers!! Anyone interested...it would be a couple hours a week doing some paperwork and helping with planning events!! Message me (Cresta Micik) if you are interested!! :)

One more day for the yard sale...we would like to get rid of everything, so stop by from 11:30-4:00 and make us an offer!
