We are excited to announce we have partnered with SpiritWear Direct to create an Online Store! This SpiritWear will be allowed as part of the school’s dress code guidelines.

You pick your style, one of the AOE designs and the clothes ship directly to you!

All orders over $50 always ship free. SpiritWear will be holding an All Orders Ship Free Promotion in the coming weeks. I’ll post the details as soon as I have them!

Here are the updated uniform requirements based on parent survey feedback:

2022-23 School Uniform/Dress Code Guidelines

Angel Oak students (CD-5th) will wear a uniform consisting of:

-Any blue, white, or orange collared shirt or t-shirt with NO designs. Solid colored dresses are also allowed.

-Angel Oak School Spirit shirts designed with school logo (Haut Gap MS and St. John’s HS shirts are also allowed to show our island spirit☺)

-Dark blue, black or khaki pants, blue jeans with no holes, shorts or skirts

-Sneakers preferred. Shoestrings and straps must be tied or Velcro-ed. Sandals must have a back strap to secure shoe to foot. Flip-flops are not allowed.

-Heavy coats, hoodies, hats and outdoor jackets will be hung in the classroom at the direction of the teacher during cold periods.

-Students/families who join our PTA can participate in weekly dress down Fridays and special spirit days. Join the PTA and join the fun!

Happy Saturday AOE Families! I wanted to send a quick reminder that next week is Teacher and Staff appreciation. Our teachers were so thankful last year, and we want to give them the same experience this year! For Monday we ask that you have your child write a thank you note for a teacher, resource teacher or teaching assistant and bring in your teacher’s favorite flower! I’ll post reminders this week for our themes for each day! Thank you for supporting our Teachers and letting them know how much we love them!

With the help of Salty Dog Cafe, we were able to treat our Teachers and Staff to a yummy lunch. We wanted to show our appreciation for how well they handled the sudden evacuation last week. Thank you Salty Dog for donating lunch to our school! Salty Dog Seabrook Island/Charleston

I personally want to thank our PRINCIPAL, TEACHERS and STAFF for keeping our children safe today. I had a mild panic attack when I saw the first alert about the school evacuation. I really appreciated the quick updates from the school on social media and coordination with the news channels to keep us informed and know what we needed to do regarding dismissal and pick-up. We know you plan for this, hoping you never have to do it, but you safely evacuated almost 800 students. I think I speak for all or our parents when I say THANK YOU!

Our PTA wanted to honor how hard the teachers/staff have been working and decided to start a monthly award. Throughout the month, teachers nominate those they have seen working hard and going above and beyond. The winner gets a $50.00 gift card to the store of their choosing. This month, Ms. Pink, Kindergarten teacher, has been awarded as PTA Teacher of the Month. She has shown love and compassion with all of her students. We love you, Ms. Pink!

This Tuesday, September 28, is AOE Virtual Open House from 6-7 p.m.! Our Open House evening event focuses on educating parents about learning, curriculum and academic standards. This event will be a virtual this year due to our health/safety restrictions. Your child's teacher will be sending you a Zoom link by Monday afternoon so you can participate. During this Zoom presentation, you will be able to learn about your child's specific grade level curriculum standards and how you can support your child at home. Time will also be available at the end for a quick Q&A session with teachers. Be an active part of your child’s learning!

Huge THANKS to Salty Dog for donating lunch for all of our teachers and staff! Salty Dog has been a supporter of AOE since they opened down at Bohicket. They have donated lunch before and have sponsored spirit nights for our school. We are so THANKFUL for their continued support! This sure did make our school feel special today!

We want to send a shout out to all of our local businesses that donated gift cards or items for our Teacher Raffle! During the Morning and Afternoon announcements, a teacher is randomly selected and receives a prize! Big THANKS to The Tomato Shed, Kiss Cafe, Island Provisions, Low Tide, Estuary and Canary Rock Salon!

The PTA was happy to provide boxed lunches for our awesome teachers and staff today! Tomorrow students should bring in a treat for our Special Area Teachers! Thanks for helping us make our teachers and staff feel appreciated!
