Had one 5th grade with extra time this week so we did a quick one day oil pastel candy cane color blending lesson!

Surrealism projects: Art 2 did a colored pencil project that had to incorporate elements of surrealism. Art 3 and 4 did a mixed media project that asked them to combine animals.

Just a few of the 5th graders pumpkin patch paintings in honor of Halloween. They used only the three primary colors to mix the secondary colors!
Since I teach in the Art room that I attended as a student and my mom found my old sweatshirt, I am dressed like myself from 30 years ago in the same spot in the art room.

A few of the 6th hour Art 1 class graphite grid drawings. So proud of their progress this year! I haven’t had these kids for Art and they haven’t had art at all since 6th grade. I’m so glad to see them again 🖤💛🎨 Stay tuned for many more as they are finishing!

Save the Date! Association of Student Artists Student Art Show will be held IN PERSON for the first time since 2019! The ASA is comprised of six local school districts (Iron Mountain, Kingsford, Norway, Niagara, Florence, and Pembine). The ASA hosts an annual show and awards ceremony. The display is housed at KHS and features hundreds of artworks from high school students. The show is judged by representatives from six university Art departments and merit awards are given to 40 students. Please join us to view the impressive collection of work! The show (and awards ceremony) are completely free and open to the public!
