EduNations is excited to announce Dana Kaltenberger as our new U.S. Director!

Dana Kaltenberger has been an active EduNations supporter for the last few years. She first heard about EduNations on a trip to Israel, where she met our President, Samuel Sesay. This meeting led to a fruitful partnership between EduNations and Grace Community Church, where Dana served as the Director of Global Outreach. In April 2021, Dana and her husband Matt joined us on a trip to Sierra Leone and got to see first-hand the work that the Lord is doing through EduNations. They have been actively engaged in our mission ever since!

Dana felt God’s calling on her life for full-time ministry as a college student and has faithfully served Him over the past 30 years. God has placed a passion in her heart for missions and reaching the world with the good news of Jesus Christ. Earning her bachelor’s degree in education, Dana sees the value and impact of establishing schools in developing world countries.

As she prepares to join us full-time, Dana writes, “I am humbled and grateful to accept the position as the U.S. Director of EduNations. I am excited for this opportunity to do Kingdom work for the glory of God and to be the hands and feet of Jesus to the people of Sierra Leone.”

We are excited for Dana to officially start her role in March and we hope you will join us in welcoming her to the team!
Our Hope Academies in Mayatta just kicked off the first of the annual EduNations sports meets that take place in all of our 15 schools between February and March. This is always a greatly anticipated event by both our students and teachers!
With repeated fatal snake bite incidents and perils of wild fires and canoeing to school, we invited JSB Safety Solutions LTD. to do a safety assessment of our school community and undertake a two days environmental safety training of staff, students and community stakeholders. This training which JSB Safety Solutions LTD carried out as part of their corporate social responsibility would accelerate a massive awareness of the various spices in our ecosystem including those that are perilous to human existence. Many thanks to my college mate Bunting Kayode Williams and his colleagues for facilitating this all important training to EduNations on a pro bono basis.
Happy New Year!✨

"God has been faithful in so many ways. Specifically, the Lord has been faithful through our Senior Secondary Boarding School. We have 250 students enrolled in the boarding school this year, receiving a quality education, three meals each day, and housing in our dormitories. This has been such a big step for us as an organization and we have seen the faithfulness of God through providing funds and resources, working in the hearts of many of our students as they grow in their faith, and through our staff, who have been committed and devoted to our mission." ~Samuel Sesay
Come hear about God's faithfulness firsthand at one of our weekend services as we welcome Samuel Sesay and EduNations.

Hello everyone! My name is Olivia Barkley and I will be an intern at EduNations this summer!!! Here are a few fun facts about me:

* I'm an incoming junior at Liberty University studying Women's Leadership with a cognate in Global studies and Youth Ministry.
* I'm from Evans City, PA
* In my free time I enjoy hanging out with friends and family, thrifting, and traveling!

Eighteen years ago, EduNations began with a group of families in Buffalo, NY whose love and compassion compelled them to ignite hope in under-resourced communities by comprehensively educating rising generations. On Saturday, a horrific display of racism and hatred occurred in this beautiful city. On behalf of all of us at EduNations, we offer our sympathy, love, and prayers to our friends, family, and community of Buffalo. May God grant you peace and comfort in the midst of tragedy.

Today, we mourn the passing away of one of our finest heads of school, Ms Henrietta Kamara. Holding a Higher Teachers Certificate in Elementary Education, Henrietta served the community of Mayatta for two years before taking up the position of Head teacher in the EduNations Hope Academy Nursery School in Mabum Station. Henrietta was full of life and love and passion for community development. On Monday, she was here with us presenting a token of appreciation to our visiting founding fathers and on Friday, she passed away during a blood transfusion in Makeni. She is survived by her parents and siblings who continue to need our prayers and support.

Stay tuned...👀

Igniting Hope for the Future...

EduNations was founded in 2004, not long after the end of the infamous twelve year “Blood Diamond War,” by five families who had adopted children from Sierra Leone.

With the appreciation that their children would now have access to abundant resources through quality education offered in the United States, and that family and friends of their children’s who remained in Sierra Leone would not, these families began to build schools.

Initially, EduNations focused exclusively on raising money to build schools, turning over the keys to “in-country” partners. Over time and with gained experience, particularly in dealing with the systematic corruption that comes from a prolonged and devastating civil war, EduNations began to build and operate schools as both a recognized NGO (non-government organization) in Sierra Leone, and an approved 501(c)(3) (non-profit) organization in the United States. The hiring of a fully Sierra Leonean staff, lef by Mr. Samuel Sesay as In-Country Director, marked a new beginning for EduNations.

Today, Samuel Sesay serves as the President of EduNations with the support of a Board of Directors in the United States. The small U.S.-based staff and Board serve to empower and enable the Sierra Leonean faculty, staff, and leadership by “igniting hope for the least of these” in the most under-resourced, difficult to reach, rural regions of northern province districts of Bombali, Port Loko, Tonkolili and Koinadugu in Sierra Leone, West Africa. EduNations currently has 14 schools with over 100 teachers and staff that serve about 3,000 students in six different communities.
