Indiana Junior Classical League

Encouraging an interest in and an appreciation of the language, literature, and culture of ancient Greece and Rome The National Junior Classical League is an organization of junior high and high school students sponsored by the American Classical League.

It is composed of local and state chapters made up of students of Latin and classical humanities and is the largest classical organization in the world today. Its purpose is to encourage an interest in and an appreciation of the language, literature, and culture of ancient Greece and Rome and to give students some understanding of the debt of their own culture to that of classical antiquity. The state chapter for Indiana is the IJCL

High school students interested in studying Classics at the college level are invited to a virtual Zoom event on August 28, hosted by the Asian and Asian American Classical Caucus. All are welcome, but the focus is primarily on what it’s like to be an APIDA (Asian, Pacific Islander, and Desi American) Classicist.

The registration link is bit.ly/aaacchs. Sign up to come and hear from four great panelists from different stages in academic study:

Frances Lin, a sophomore at Amherst College;
Kiran Mansukhani, a PhD student at The Graduate Center, CUNY;
Kelly Nguyen, a postdoc currently at UC Berkeley and moving to Stanford this fall; and
Nandini Pandey, an associate professor currently at University of Wisconsin-Madison.
