To all the mothers, motherly figures, women who have lost a child, women who have miscarried, women who are unable to have children but want them, step mothers, grandmothers, mothers who think they weren’t good enough mothers, mothers who didn’t raise their own children (for whatever reason), and pet mothers… HAPPY MOTHERS DAY! No one can ever take that title away from you, you are, have been, will be or hope to be a mother at some point and that is enough to celebrate

Cinco de Mayo, or the fifth of May, is a holiday that celebrates the date of the Mexican army’s May 5, 1862 victory over France at the Battle of Puebla during the Franco-Mexican War. The day, which falls on Thursday, May 5 in 2022, is also known as Battle of Puebla Day. While it is a relatively minor holiday in Mexico, in the United States, Cinco de Mayo has evolved into a commemoration of Mexican culture and heritage, particularly in areas with large Mexican-American populations.

May is national Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month. This is an opportunity to pay tribute to the generations of Asian and Pacific Islanders who have enriched America's history and are instrumental in its future success.

The Spring 2022 term course drop deadline is approaching! We have attached some things to consider before dropping a course.

We’re in the last few weeks of the semester! Make sure to keep track of these important dates!

On Dec. 3rd, we honor International Day of Disabled Persons, which aims to promote the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities in all spheres of society and development. Many of our peers in the workplace and academic environment have disabilities.

According to Census Brief 97-5, "About 1 in 5 Americans have some kind of disability, and 1 in 10 have a severe disability."

Happy Pride Gators!! While the AAC prides itself on making our center a safe space for all our Gators, we are especially proud to celebrate and highlight our LGBTQIA+ community this June!

As we close Black History Month, we feel immensely proud of the continued progress that our society strives to advocate for! We in the AAC continue to work to create a space and advocate for our underrepresented Gators. There is still much work to do, but we are committed to diversity and inclusion of our AAC Gator’s experience.
