Every performance tells a unique story. Oedipus Rex, the Spring 2024 Drama Production at Northeast will do just that! Oedipus Rex, by Sophocles, tells the story of a man who seeks to uncover the murderer of the once King—only to find out that he is that murderer. Oedipus is trapped by fate and doomed by destiny. For the last 2500 years, Oedipus Rex has been counted as the finest of all the Greek tragedies. However, modern audiences find the story intriguing and heart-wrenching.
