When it comes to developing good character, Primrose students have 12 special helpers. Through songs, stories, activities and more, teachers use the Primrose Friends to help children learn about positive character traits like generosity ❤️, courage 🦁 and cooperation 🤝.

The start of a new school year is always exciting, but little ones sometimes feel nervous about making the transition whether that be the prospect of a new classroom, new teachers or new friends. Try these tips to help build your child's confidence for the first day of school and beyond:​

👋 Wave Goodbye to Summer: Enjoy an end-of-summer picnic and a first day back at school breakfast with your family.​
​
🙂 Keep it Positive: Your attitude makes a huge difference when it comes to building excitement about the school year. Talk to your child about all the fun they'll have and how they'll get to see their school friends soon. ​
​
🍎 Practice Healthy Habits: Schedules tend to get off track in the summer, so it's important to reestablish your child's normal sleeping and eating schedules. The transition will be easier for both of you when your little one is well-rested and feeling good. ​
​
🗓️ Make a Paper Chain: Starting in the final days of summer, create a paper chain with every "link" representing one day. Have your child draw what happened that day on each link. When the first month of school is over, you'll have a fun memory craft to decorate with. ​
​
📚 Read Together: Reading books about heading back to school is a fun way to get your child excited while helping strengthen their early literacy skills. ​

In June, Primrose schools in Middle Tennessee hosted over 340 teachers for Professional Development Day! This event was full of learning, collaboration, team-building exercises and networking. ​

Family of the Month: July 2024

We are the Santos family and we are a busy little family based out of Houston, TX. We love going to swim class on Saturdays, playing with our dog Maci, and doing fun trips and adventures with our friends and large extended family. Primrose has been home to our son and family for 4 years and we appreciate so much how everyone at Primrose treats us like family.

Hi my name is Yuridia but most call me Luna. I was born and raised in California I decided to move to Houston last year to become more independent. I am a big animal lover, I have 3 cats and a dog. I love working with kids because I enjoy creating unique bonds with each one and watching them grow. I am excited to be Apple of the Eye for July!

Spring Fling has come to an end, and this year the Primrose community has raised more than $510,000 as children learned about the joy of giving without expectation. 🌸🎉​

Half of the funds raised will support local charities in Primrose school communities, and the other half support the Primrose Schools Children Foundation's mission to empower people, care for the planet and give back to communities through contributions to West Lakes Early Learning Center, No Kid Hungry®, Save the Children® and more.

Apple of Our Eye- June 2024
Hello, my name is Jordyn. I have been working at Primrose for one year and have been at the Copperfield location for eight months. I have two older brothers with whom I enjoy spending time with. I love reading, baking, and spending time and friends in my free time. I am so grateful to be working for such a fantastic school. Copperfield has been so welcoming and encouraging. I love getting to know the children, creating special bonds, and watching them grow every day.

Family of the Month: June 2024 Villa-Hazlett Family

We are the Villa Hazlett family. There's Francisco (daddy), Robin (mommy), Piper, Bluey (dog), Billie Jean (dog), and Bobbie (bird).

We enjoy all manner of family adventures. Whether it's a gathering, a restaurant, Astros game, Texans game, or any of the dozens of events going on around the city. Even before we finish asking the question, Piper is already thinking of what outfit she'll wear and what shoes are most appropriate. "Well, I'll need to match Mommy's boots so...". Piper loves to fly so it's tough to keep her in one place for too long. Her loyalty is split between Houston and Pittsburgh but this house (divided) always roots for one another.

We moved to Houston just two years ago to be closer to family and knew we wanted Piper to attend Primrose Copperfield even before we packed the moving truck. Other places just didn't compare. We appreciate the curriculum and thoughtful staff. The transparency and continual engagement with parents is so important as we leave our child each day. We especially enjoy the awesome photos of Piper we get through the Procare app.

As this chapter comes to a close, we're certain Piper has made Primrose friends, friends for life.

Our private pre-kindergarten graduated Thursday May 30th, 2024! We are so proud of all they have accomplished this year! Congratulations Primrose School of Copperfield 2024!!!
