In August 1984, as the second Lone Star College, it was referred to as the "East Campus." The college is located just north of the San Jacinto River and west of U.S. 59. The campus location serves students from Humble, Kingwood, New Caney, Porter, Splendora, and other communities along the U.S. 59 corridor.
Lone Star College-Kingwood offers more than 60 programs and academic transfer courses to help every student achieve their educational goals conveniently and affordably. Serving more than 11,000 students, the college offers studies in various fields, such as computer programming, fire science, graphic design, nursing, theater, dental hygiene, marketing, video and post-production, accounting, respiratory therapy, process technology, instrumentation, and many more. A wide range of transferable classes, including art, science, music, government, and history, are offered alongside a robust continuing technical education division that provides training and courses for the workforce and beyond.
Additionally, the college has an active campus life, with registered student organizations, speakers and events, and support services like the Intercultural, Men's and Women's Centers, and Career Services. Students also have many options available to aid their college journey, including tutoring and resources in the Learning Commons; academic, career, and personal counseling with master's level professionals; and advisors ready to assist with your needs for financial aid, disability services, and academic planning.
The Lone Star College-Kingwood has three satellite centers. The Lone Star College-Atascocita Center, located at 15903 West Lake Houston Parkway, provides the community with local access to services, college courses and programs, workforce training, and leisure learning. It contains student services, a bookstore, a library and learning center, an administrative suite, faculty offices, computer labs, classrooms, and laboratories. The LSC-Process Technology Center, located at 14001 Lockwood Road, offers the Process Technology and Instrumentation programs. These courses train students to work in a variety of industries such as petrochemical, refining, food and beverage, chemical processing, and more. The LSC-EMCID, located at 21575 Highway 59 North, houses the Academy for Lifelong Learning, a program for community members aged 50 and older.
