Ooey Gooey Slime..

Today our students made slime! They investigated the reaction of glue, shaving cream and activator! Then the students added their favorite colors! 🎨🧪🔎

As a fun surprise, the students were able to take home the slime they created. Great job friends!

Today for summer camp we invited parents to read books the students. Our campers had so much fun! Thank you to our wonderful parents who stopped by today.

This is a fun sensory activity for toddlers to do during the summer. The materials used during this activity were: a ziploc bag, watermelon seeds, water and red food coloring.

Small vs. Big ..

Our Early Preschool students had so much fun using thier hand-eye coordination skills during this activity. The students used a dropper to move water from one cup to the next.

Today we had the honor of celebrating our pre-kindergarten graduates along with all of their families. We are so proud of everything the graduates have accomplished and the amazing young learners that they are. We are so excited to see what their bright futures hold!

The Goddard School of Alexandria (Old Town), VA, is now open! Congratulations to owners Akhil and Madhu Govil. This is the fourth location for the co-owners, who also own The Goddard School of Ashburn, The Goddard School of Ashburn Leesburg, and The Goddard School of Waldorf.

As owners & grandparents, their goal is to continue to provide a foundation of learning to all the young children in Alexandria who are the beacon of the great future. They are excited for the opportunity and look forward to serving the Old Town Alexandria community.

I Am Enough, written by Grace Byers and illustrated by Keturah A. Bobo, is a story that helps children develop self-awareness skills. It teaches them to know their strengths and weaknesses and recognize that their differences don’t dictate their worth because we all “have places here on earth.”

Dream Big Little One written and illustrated by Vashti Harrison introduces children to amazing Black women in history and teaches them about self-awareness. After you read the book, ask your children open-ended questions like “What are you great at?” and “What’s something you want to learn more about?”

Our Toddler students enjoyed matching toy animals to its corresponding photo. This activity exercises the child’s cognitive thinking skills. 🦕🦁🦒🦓

Creativity is all about giving children the freedom to make and play on their own. An activity we love at Goddard is painting with anything BUT a paintbrush! 🖌️ Whether it’s string, fork, or feathers, children can use everyday objects to create extraordinary works of art. Creativity is child-led, so let your child's imagination run wild as they learn how to innovate while they create!
