Soprano Margaret Woods and pianist Daniel Stipe will be performing at Trinity Lutheran Church, Richmond VA Friday evening at 7PM. The program includes music by Lili Boulanger and Duke Ellington.

Since the start of the pandemic, our Career and Transition Services team has delivered more than 35,000 lbs of food to families experiencing food insecurity throughout Central Virginia. This wouldn’t be possible without supporters like you and amazing partners like Chesterfield Food Bank, Feed More, Little Hands Virginia, Lifeworks Restaurant Group, Victory Lady Fitness Centers, Neumann+Dunn Real Estate, Chamberlayne Heights United Methodist Church, Trinity Lutheran Church, Richmond VA, Managed Benefits and Henrico County Government. This past year has been harder than most for many people, and we stand in awe of how our community has stepped up to care for others. Wings of Hope got the honor of helping Jen Watts as well as Hal and Linda Baker deliver lunches to neighborhood children this past Wednesday. While it may seem nice that we did this for ONE day, Jen, Hal, Linda and volunteers from their church actually set up a hot dog stand and serve lunches to hungry children every summer when school lets out and school food is no longer available. When the schools closed for COVID-19, they opened the lunch stand back up and have been serving lunches 5 days a week, to 30-60 people a day...for the last 8 weeks!!! Trinity Lutheran Church, Richmond VA and it’s caring people donate money and food for this ministry to take place.

This week, Resurrection Disaster Relief had collected funds from area churches and provided a weeks worth of groceries for over 100 families and Wings was able to surprise five of the families who receive lunch at the hot dog stand with a weeks worth of groceries!

Talk about living out Matthew 22:37-39 (NIV)!!!!

Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself.”

Happy Easter everyone! The grave could not hold him!
