Today the Drury University family celebrates the life and legacy of alum Bob Barker following his passing at the age of 99. Barker graduated from Drury in 1947 and went on to have a long and successful broadcasting career. We're proud to highlight Drury GO student and Alpha Sigma Lambda inductee Kara Williamson ’23. ASL is an honors society for adult, non-traditional students. Kara graduated from Drury University with a Bachelor of Science in History. She is from Grovespring, Missouri, has been married for 16 years, and has two sons. She said she is so grateful for all the things she has learned and that she has gained a new appreciation of history that she is eager to share with others.

She currently works as a registered medical assistant and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Human Services. She picked this field of study because she wants to be able to help people struggling with addiction. One of Haylee’s career aspirations is to receive her Missouri Associate Alcohol Drug Counselor II Diligence.

We're proud to highlight Drury GO student and Alpha Sigma Lambda inductee Brittany Barraza ’23. She is graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and plans to teach upper Elementary or Secondary. She has been married for seven years, and has three children: a six-year-old daughter, a three-year-old son, and a new-born daughter. We are so excited for her next chapter!

College taught me that I can achieve great things and be successful; more successful than I had even dreamed I could be.”

Brittany works as a Certified Peer Specialist at Clark Community Mental Health, supporting adults with mental health and substance use disorders. In addition to a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, she aspires to also pursue a master’s degree in social work. Brittany wants to pursue a career in the mental health field, focusing on working with individuals with mental health and substance use disorders. She says she looks forward to using her education and experience to continue to serve those in need.

Congratulations to Cass County's Destany L'Heureux for being selected as a prestigious Fulbright English Teaching Award winner! While Destany is a student on the main campus, we wanted to help celebrate her a little closer to home as she is from Peculiar. Destany's application was selected from a pool over 850 applicants, and she will be representing Drury University this fall as she heads to Spain to teach English for 9 months. Congratulations Destany! We couldn't be more proud.
