We are pleased to announce Jocquelyn Boone as Creative Greensboro's new Chief Creative Economy Officer. She begins her new position on August 23!
Jocquelyn most recently served as a senior director for the Baltimore Office of Promotion and the Arts, a nonprofit cultural organization that supports the city’s creative economy. She has a Bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism from Johnson Smith University and Master’s in Fine Arts in film from Howard University. Jocquelyn has an extensive background in nonprofit management, arts administration and programming, teaching creative writing, theaters arts, dance, public speaking and working with youth.
“I am looking forward to leading the charge of growing the arts scene in Greensboro. The foundation is prime and ideal for introducing the community to a host of new offerings though Creative Greensboro,” said Boone. “My passion for arts and culture is contagious and I’m eager to collaborate with such a vibrant arts community."

Our cane (also known as Arundo Donax) is grown for about 2 years in the Mediterranean Basin. It is then cut, stripped of its leaves, and sunned for about 2 weeks to get its beautiful, golden yellow color. Then the cane poles are stacked in a warehouse where the Mistral Winds help in drying the cane poles naturally for another 2 years.

Creative Greensboro Creative Greensboro is the City of Greensboro office of arts and culture. Founded in 2019, Creative Greensboro provides support for, ensures access to and drives awareness of Greensboro's creative community.
Students who sing, play guitar or keyboard, or just want to rock out with us are invited to register for our Rock Band camp, coming up July 10-20! Bowed string players (violin, viola, cello, and double bass) are invited to join Dr. Christen Blanton Mack this summer and fall to learn new ways of playing their instruments! 🎻
Players will spend time learning new tunes from various music styles, including old-time and Celtic fiddle tunes, jazz and blues charts, and even pop and rock! All experience levels are welcome. Tunes are specifically tailored so anyone who can play a D Major Scale on their instrument will be able to participate.
