The Traditional Academy at Bellair was grateful to have Ret. Colonel Richard Bratt as a guest speaker recently. Fourth grade teacher Monika Cartee wanted to bring dimension to their study of John Glen and it so happens her brother knows a lot about the pathway to becoming a test pilot.
The Traditional Academy at Bellair would like to give a round of applause👏 to our spelling be winner Ashley Neal and a congratulations to all that participated. 🎉
Hi everyone! Does anyone know of any local T-shirt design/printing companies?

Greetings Traditional Academy at Bellair Families,
Here is some updated information that will help you navigate the first few weeks back. As you know school will be begin on August 3rd with virtual instruction. School uniforms are not required to be worn while attending zoom meetings and virtual lessons. We want our students to be comfortable when learning from home.
Our school office will open on July 31st. This is also the first day teachers are allowed to start moving on to the campus. Until our cafeteria is released for service, you will be able to pick up school lunches from any school in the district. Look for communication from Food Services by the end of this week for details. Our teachers and staff are scrambling to provide you with the best possible experience while maneuvering Covid 19 and construction delays.
Check the Bellair website at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 30th for a Welcome Back to School Message from your child’s grade level teachers. This message will give you information about Daily Expectations, Weekly Schedules, Supply Lists, Navigating the Technology and Social and Emotional Learning. I will also post a virtual greeting on the website. I am also attaching my virtual greeting to this e-mail. No worries if you can’t open it from home. An identical message is posted on the website. The live greeting is canceled due to technical difficulties.
The Traditional Academy at Bellair will host a Meet the Teacher on July 31st. This will be a drive through parking lot event where you can pick up technology and supplies. Each grade level will have a designated time for pick-up. This is your chance to see your teacher in person and have a picture taken of your family in the car as a memento of our first meeting. Please have your child’s name and grade level neatly printed on a large paper that he or she can hold for the picture.
If you are unable to make the designated time, office staff will be available from 5:30-6:30 pm for your convenience. If you have multiple children at our school and it would be a hardship to stop by multiple times during the day, you may choose one grade level time to pick up for all of your children. The only drawback is the grade level teachers will only be available for you to meet during the designated grade level time. The schedule is as follows:
Kindergarten: 8:00- 9:00 am.
5th Grade: 9:00-10:00 a.m.
6th Grade: 10:00-11:00 a.m.
4th Grade: 11:00-12:00 p.m
3rd Grade: 12:00- 1:00 p.m
1st Grade: 1:00-2:00 p.m.
2nd Grade: 2:00-3:00 p.m
Late Pick Up: 5:30-6:30 p.m.
Just a reminder, we will be practicing social distancing and wearing masks. When our school office opens, all people who enter the campus must wear a mask. That’s all we have for now! Enjoy your last few days of summer! See you soon!

Friendly reminder: IF you need a device for online learning, pickup is TODAY, 9:00-12:00, and TOMORROW, 3:00-6:00, at BARRY GOLDWATER HS. You will need a photo ID and your DVUSD student’s ID#.
From Ms. Dettorre:
1. We are not working at the school campus per the Governor’s order. We are not there to answer phones. Please email me: [email protected] with questions etc. You can also email the teachers.
2. Hold onto library books if they are at home. We will work out how to get them back to school. Ignore the automated notices you are receiving about library books.
3. Kindergarten field trip refunds – we are working to get that money to you. You will get it – we are just working out a few details.
4. Spring/Class pictures and Yearbooks – we are working with LifeTouch about delivery. When we receive them, we will work out a plan to distribute them. We are also looking into opening up the online yearbook purchase window for anyone who still wants to purchase one. In the past we always made extra copies available for sale in the office. We won’t be able to do that.
5. We know that your children have things in their desks and cubbies. I am working on a plan to gather the belongings and schedule pick up times. My staff has to pack up classrooms so the remodel can continue. I will notify you over the next couple of weeks about an exact plan.
This is all new for all of us. I greatly appreciate your patience and understanding.
DEVICE PICK UP. April 2nd from 9:00am-12:00pm.
April 3rd from 3:00pm-6:00pm.
