Thunderbird student Bob Morabito founded Das Tor in 1969 as "an open forum for debate." The student publication continued in print until fall 2011, when the format changed to digital. The new online publication continues the Das Tor mission to serve as a clearing house of ideas that may further prepare students for the international community. Spring 2013 Editors:

Thunderbirds, based on the success of the Homeless Veteran's Food Drive, Maricarmen Figueroa, and Steven Marshall have decided to host another one for the general homeless population in the Greater Phoenix Area. The collection box will be staged starting Monday, October 3rd on the second floor, in the African Heritage Lounge, and will be donated on Friday, October 21st.

Das Tor is incredibly excited to announce its new leadership for Summer 2022 to Spring 2023! Anna Eades and David Lugo Robles will be taking over as Editor-in-Chief and Assistant Editor-in-Chief of Das Tor.

The team at Das Tor also wants to extend a special thanks and farewell to Graduating Editor Sophie Dessart and Assistant Editor Andrea Awuah.

While our leaders may change, our values as Das Tor remain the same as when we were established in 1969. We celebrate the stories of the wonderful and talented students at Thunderbird. The new team looks forward to continuing this mission in the coming year and beyond!

Congratulations to our Global Eats Cooking Competition winner Sakhi Solanki! 

Today, Das Tor filmed Sakhi cooking her winning dish, aloo paratha, at the Arizona State University Multicultural Center test kitchen. The event was hosted by the talented Andrea Polanco, a journalist from Belize and a distinguished recipient of the Humphrey Fellowship at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication.

Honorable mention also goes to Jae Won Song and Erica Ingram, our second and third place winners, respectively. 

Thank you to Thunderbird Student Government for their support and collaboration in making this event a success and to Terrance Balousek from the Thunderbird School of Global Management for providing our technical and editing support.

Current students, we want to announce a very special collaboration between Das Tor with the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Media and the ASU Multicultural Center of Excellence - A cooking competition! The global eats segment which highlights student recipes from around the world is hosting its first competition!

The winner will receive a custom Thunderbird School of Global Management cooking apron and will have the opportunity to record their recipe live in the downtown Multicultural center kitchen. Submit your favorite dish or share a family recipe.
