This is easily the most special job we have done on a guitar. What started as a neck reset, became a custom tree of life inlay on the fretboard and a stainless steel refret by our guitar tech Casper. Additionally, a custom pickguard and truss rod cover were made for it by Dan's Wood. This guitar belongs to a former army ranger who had this guitar with him on many deployments. The black stripes inlayed in the pickguard are pieces from a sacred heart tree that he brought back from Afghanistan. As a veteran myself, it was a pleasure facilitating this and hearing this man's story let alone seeing his satisfaction with the finished product. - Jake

This is easily the craziest guitar we've ever had in the shop. A 2007 EVH Frankenstein. Only 300 of these guitars were made and every scratch, dent and corroded part was meticulously placed to resemble the original used by

Jake Lincoln and the Allstar team are celebrating in the harbor this week! Allstar Guitar, Gig Harbor’s local music store and music academy, has a new owner with a familiar face.
Jake Lincoln is a Gig Harbor native and his family has been in the harbor since 1961. Jake’s grandfather, Jack Lincoln, owned Lincoln Photography Studio, located in the historic Empire Building. He also operated a local newspaper, the Peninsula Pictorial, and his work remains on display in the Harbor History Museum. Jake’s roots in both Gig Harbor and Allstar Guitar run deep. Jake has been playing guitar for 15 years and began taking music lessons at the age of 12. Jake is a graduate of Peninsula High School and is a U.S. military veteran. After spending four years in the Navy, Jake returned to Gig Harbor and graduated in May 2020 with his Bachelor’s degree in Music from the University of Puget Sound, focusing on classical guitar. Jake has been teaching and working at Allstar Guitar for the past four years before formally taking over ownership this week.
Steve Brownlee is a new face to Allstar Guitar and Gig Harbor, but a long-time friend of Jake. Steve and Jake met in the military, bonding over a shared love of music and talent for playing instruments. Steve is a disabled military veteran, serving 14 years in the U.S. Army. Steve is a musician and gear expert and has been playing as a gigging guitarist for 20 years. Steve is ready to start a new life in Gig Harbor with his spouse, Trish, and daughter, Aurora. Trish and Steve met in 2009, and are celebrating their 10-year wedding anniversary this weekend! For the Brownlee family, Gig Harbor is a place to finally call home, doing what they love.
