Day 1
We have been given a gift. A gift of pause. A gift of time. How many days do we find ourselves wishing for time to slow down, wishing to see our families more, wishing we could work less, wishing to get projects done, wishing we could learn a new skill? It’s here.
Now is our time to reach out and help our neighbors. Now is our time to slow down. Now is our time to pause. Now is our time love on our kids. Now is our time to love our actual neighbor. Now is our time to turn on YouTube and learn a new skill. Now is our time to clean out the junk drawers and work on projects as a family around the house. Now is our time to ask for help. Now is our time to accept this gift.
Now is the time to love one another and be at peace. Enjoy this gift.
Love you all, Mrs. Olsen
Yesterday we had lots of fun making "What Not Dolls" using fabric scraps, beads, buttons, wire and other recycled pieces and what not from around. Thank you Penninsula Hands on Art for this great project!! Thanks to Brittany for helping organize and do the project with the kids.
Our tour of The Washington state Capitol today was wonderful!!
We tried writing a cellphone bill for schools but after the bill went from the Senate to the committee then to the House of Representatives and back around again, the bill was voted down and tossed. Bummer, I (the governor) was really hoping to see the bill and either sign it into law or veto it. Maybe next year!
Doesn't Sarah look amazing? She is strong, brave, beautiful and in good spirits! She loved her gift basket!!
Happy Valentine's Day!
Inspecting and observing fish is fascinating!
When teachers spend the day learning and working together, we all benefit. I am so proud of my kids for helping "teach" us teachers today. Here are 8 wonderful students letting us try on, practice and refine skills we learned today.
Be prepared just incase!!
Winter is here which means the weather may force a change in the normal school schedule. Now is the time to make sure your student’s emergency contact information is up-to-date. Log in to your PowerSchool account and check the information for each child in your family.
We want you to be prepared and know where to get information. In the event of snow or ice, we may change school district start or dismissal times for student safety. Here is how we will communicate school schedule changes:
-Emails and Text Messages: Please be sure your contact information is up-to-date in the parent portal (PowerSchool).
-Website Announcements: Be sure to bookmark the district’s website: psd401.net
-Social Media Posts: We post updates on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. You can also follow us on Twitter at and on Facebook at .
-Local TV/Radio Announcements.
-Peninsula School District emergency information line 253-530-1088.
We encourage you to become familiar with the different types of schedule changes you can expect during weather-related events or other emergencies.
And, if your child rides the bus, be be sure to review the emergency bus routes for your child’s school.
