Fun Times 04/07/2011

Looking for some inexpensive fun? Use the natural resources around your house. We went digging for clams. It was an afternoon full of fun! To top it off we were able to make a FREE dinner out it! Get creative.

We are excited to announce that we have added Song and Dance lessons to our curriculum!

Place the eggs with letters written on them in a tub of water. Allow your preschooler fish them out. Once they have the egg, ask them to name the letter on the egg.

Letter matching!
Write 1 letter on each end of the egg. Pull apart the eggs and have your preschooler match them up.

Save those egg cartoons for tomorrows activity!

Have your child sort the eggs into groups of the same colors. This can be done by placing them in different piles or use baskets to place them in. End the activity by naming each group of colors.

Name Activity!
Begin by writing your child's name twice on a piece of paper. Put one name aside for your child to look at as a reference. Take the other name and cut each letter out. Put one letter in each egg. Mix up the eggs and ask your child to find the letters in their name. Once they have found the letters ask them to put the letters in order. To extend this activity you can spell other family members names.

I was able to purchase these eggs for a $1. With 18 eggs we have more than enough for our activities.

Easter is almost here!
We have lots of Easter activities for your preschooler.
When you are out shopping grab a bag of the colored plastic eggs. Most stores have them for a $1 or under.

Getting ready for Saint Patrick's Day?

Go on a hunt for leprechauns. Before you go on a hunt, place some doll house furniture or small clothing around the yard. When your child finds them suggest that they might be from a leprechaun!

A great way to teach you preschooler how to count is to play hide and seek. Your child will hear the correct way to count from you and then get to practice. Teach by modeling

Timeline Photos

Preschool Activity!
Tape or scatter letters around the house. Give your child a flashlight and send them on a letter hunt!

Preschool Activity!
Bring out all of your miss mactched tupperwear. Allow your preschooler to snap lids off and on. Use words like BIG, BIGGER, SMALL, and SMALLER.

Preschool Tip!
The best way to teach your preschooler is to PLAY! Put away the videos, worksheets, and flashcards. When your child is ready introduce letters with fun activities. Dig letters out of the sandbox or go on a letter hunt through the house. Read, dance, or cook your way to learning. This will build memories and your child's mind.
