Teaching students an appreciation for the arts through art history and art making.
I am a licensed art teacher with 7 years experience teaching children of all ages. I have been teaching in the public school system since my career began, but have decided to begin classes for homeschooled children in order to be able to stay home with my own little ones. I believe that all children should have the opportunity to learn about various methods of art making. My classes include art history, with various artists and cultures being introduced, a variety of mediums, and the basic elements and principles of design. Do not expect basic crafts from this class! Projects will start with the introduction of artworks from a particular artist or culture, then students will emulate their work with a creative twist. Class times are Tuesdays (grades 1-3) and Wednesdays (grades 4-6) from 1-2pm. Stay tuned to see the finished products!!
Mission: My mission is to bring an appreciation of the arts to my student population. Students will be exposed to various artists, cultures, techniques, and design elements and principles in order to create unique pieces of art in various mediums.
