Summer campers in West Columbia, SC enjoyed a play called "Dino Tales" at the Columbia Marionette Theater. They were amazed by the large sized marionette puppets and how they were controlled by strings.

The campers even put on their own show with their marionette keepsakes!

Emotions can be confusing for young children. So, in June our Infants and Toddlers read through "If You're Happy and You Know It…" by Annie Kubler (you know the tune). 😀🎶

Students explored their emotions and the physiological responses that go along with emotions like being happy or being sad.😄😔 Looks like the Toddlers in Summerville, SC really nailed it!

🌞 We love playing outside! Campers in Marietta, GA took a field trip to East Cobb Park for some playtime in the sun.

Meanwhile, campers in Woodstock, GA at Wiley Bridge Rd. enjoyed their first week of camp and had a legendary time at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens and splash pad.🌷

Our Toddlers in Easley, SC really know how to celebrate! They made fireworks out of repurposed toilet paper rolls and paint.

In which country did fireworks originate?

Looking for a quick and easy treat to make for your 4th of July celebration? Patriotic Rice Krispies Treat Stars are a crowd-pleaser and a kid-friendly recipe! ❤️🤍💙

All you need:

⭐ 3 tablespoons of butter
⭐ 4 cups of mini marshmallows + 1 cup extra
⭐ 6 cups of Rice Krispies cereal
⭐ 16 ounces of white chocolate melts
⭐ Star cookie cutters
⭐ Festive red and blue sprinkles

1️⃣ In a large bowl, microwave butter on high for 30 seconds or until melted.
2️⃣ Add 4 cups marshmallows to the butter and coat marshmallows with butter.
3️⃣ Microwave in 45 second increments until melted, stirring in between.
4️⃣ Once melted, add the additional cup of marshmallows and stir. (Do not microwave again).
5️⃣ Slowly fold Rice Krispies into the marshmallow mixture.
6️⃣ Stir festive sprinkles into your mixture.
7️⃣ After combining, press Rice Krispies on a baking sheet or surface lined with parchment paper, about the same thickness as your cookie cutters.
8️⃣ Cut stars into your treats using cookie cutters and place on parchment paper.
9️⃣ Melt the white chocolate melts according to the directions on the package.
🔟 Once melted completely, drizzle white chocolate over star treats and top with festive sprinkles to finish. Cool completely and enjoy!

Meet Sara Schmidt, Center Director in Loveland, CO at East 18th St. Sara just celebrated 32 years with The Sunshine House! 🌞

Sara started as a Toddler Teacher while attending college. Upon graduating, Sara moved into the Assistant Director position, and two years later became the Center Director. She loves that her team treats each other like family.🥰

Sara was born in Rochester, NY and moved to Loveland, CO when she was 5 years old, and has lived there ever since.

✨She is most proud of her children who are both currently attending college.

Advice she would give herself is: “don’t sweat the small stuff.”

Fun Facts About Sara:

🏫 Her first job was a Preschool Aid while in high school through the HERO program.
🏀 Her favorite hobby is playing basketball.
🦞 One item on her bucket list is to visit Maine.
