Our 4th graders ended their poetry unit by sharing poems they wrote at the “Poetry Cafe”. They even got to enjoy some “coffee” (hot chocolate)!

EMS ISD schools and district offices will be closed on Thursday and Friday this week due to developing winter weather. After-school and evening activities also are cancelled or postponed for Wednesday-Friday.

There will be no Cowboy Choir practice after school today. The YMCA pick up time for today has been moved to 5:00PM.

We encourage you to take winter weather precautions for your homes and families, and please stay safe and warm.

New Date for PTA Donuts with Dad event! Please see the following message from our PTA Board.

Greetings Families,
In response to high student & faculty absences the PTA and campus administration have agreed to postpone our Donuts with Dad event originally scheduled for Friday, 1/21/22. We felt it was important to consider the health and wellness of our Copper Creek Cowboys and their families. The new date for Donuts with Dad is Friday, March 4th. Those who have volunteered should receive an updated Signup Genius notification as well. We thank you for your support and understanding. Take care Cowboys.

Road Closure and Detour

FM 156 – Copper Crossing Drive Closure – Use Heritage Trace for Detour Route

Where:
Copper Crossing Drive at FM 156 (Blue Mound Road)

When:
Starts Tuesday, January 18th, 2022

What:
The FM 156 project is scheduled to close Copper Crossing Drive in both directions just west of FM 156-Blue Mound Road for the contractor to complete construction activities. The closure of Copper Crossing Drive is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, January 18th and is expected to be completed on Tuesday, March 1st. During this closure, traffic will utilize Heritage Trace Boulevard as the detour route to get to and from FM 156-Blue Mound Road.

Some FAQs...

1) Will the veterans and parents that want to attend the ceremony be sitting/ standing up front at the flag pole during the parade?

We will have seating available for veterans, accompanying family members, and guests with limited mobility. Guests may stand next to the student body as well. Please see the diagram below for more details.

2) Will there be a slide show?

Yes! We will play the slide show in the library after the ceremony for our veterans and family members to view. Additionally, the slide show will be played in the cafeteria for students during lunch times.

3) Do veterans need to be in uniform?

Uniforms are not required. Please wear comfortable clothing to match the day's weather.

4) Do I need to check in at the front office?

No, the parade and ceremony will be held outside. Veterans and family members will be allowed in the library afterwards.
Should guests wish to stay on campus for lunch with a student please check in at the front office to receive a visitor's badge.
