VCA Statement on Racial Injustice:
As the administrators of The Village Christian Academy, we wish to proclaim and affirm the following publicly:
· Racism, in any form, is a violation of God’s view of humanity.
· Violence, in any form, is a violation of God’s call for each of us to be subject to one to another.
· Grace, patience, empathy, and understanding amid disagreement should characterize our actions and behavior so that all may know we are Christians by our love.
· The pursuit of justice and doing what is right should be a rallying cause for all who follow Jesus Christ.
· And as much as it depends on each of us, we should be at peace with everyone.
The death of Mr. George Floyd was beyond heartbreaking. Mr. Floyd deserved better. We must come together as Christians to make our school, community, city, and country better and seek understanding that can lead to impactful change.
During this critical time, we commit to bathing all of our thoughts, words, and actions in prayer, submitting all to Christ, and seeking to reflect on Him in all that we do on behalf of those who have been marginalized, abused, and belittled in our society. Our support and prayers go out to those individuals and families who have and are suffering due to injustice.
We honor those who support and protect our communities through their sacrificial service in law enforcement, while at the same time standing firmly against abuses in any role of authority or power.
Last night in Fayetteville we witnessed how our law enforcement officers and protesters joined together taking a knee in solidarity. At this time we should each look at what we can Individually do to one day ensure all voices are heard in the same volume and with the same respect, as we are all created in the image of God.
We believe that a community must function as a village, and as such, strive together to defend, support, and uphold all that God has called us to be.

Mrs. Theresa Clark, K-8 Principal
Mrs. Michelle Pait, High School Principal

Many years ago, a tradition known as "The Purple Packet" was started for high school seniors. The Class of 2020 is facing unprecedented challenges to their senior year traditions and this program, its continuance, is one piece of the senior year puzzle that we can control.
"The Purple Packet" is an initiative where short notes and cards are collected from family and friends that have touched the senior’s life over the past 18 years. This note is simply a congratulatory letter or card recognizing their accomplishments. Due to the size of the packet, we ask that gift items are not sent in.
Typically on the morning of the senior breakfast, we hand out everyone’s purple packet. Notes and letters may be mailed to VCA at the address below. Please include your senior's name on the envelope. If you need to send in more than one note, you may place all notes into a larger envelope and mail together to VCA to the attention of the high school office. If you do not know a senior but simply want to send a note of well wishes, there are 48 seniors in the Class of 2020. Even the note or prayer of stranger will mean so much right now.
