The Global Interdisciplinary Programs are excited to extend a "Call for Entries" for our first short film contest. This spring, we are hosting a film festival that will center on the topic of STUDENT ACTIVISM. We are seeking short films, no longer than 3:00 minutes in duration, to be shown during the festival on April 12th, between 1:00 and 4:00pm, in the Johnson Center Dewberry Lobby.

On Wednesday February 1st, 2012 through Wednesday February 29th, 2012, the work of Deborah Willis and Hank Willis Thomas, "Progeny," will be on display in the School of Art Gallery. Simultaneously, AAAS and the School of Art will showcase student talent in the "About Race" student photography show, which will be on display in Gallery 123 in the Johnson Center. Additionally, the Association of African American Professional Photographers of the Washington, DC metropolitan region, also known as the Exposure Group, will have their work on display in the atrium of Mason Hall.

Work of Alumna Willis Featured in February Mason Exhibit

Scholar, artist and photographer Deborah Willis, who earned a PhD in cultural studies at George Mason University in 2002, will have her work on display at a Mason exhibit throughout February. The showcase, called "Progeny," features the work of Willis and her son, Hank Willis Thomas.
