In Mrs. Norder's classroom we read the book, Crazy Pizza Day.
After talking about all the different pizzas in the book the students made up their own CRAZY PIZZA in the Art Center.

We are closed today but can't wait to see our friends tomorrow. Today, our staff had the opportunity to hear two presenters Mills Rogers "Being a Champion for kids" and Dr. Adolph Brown "The Early Years and What Every Effective Early Childhood Educator Does".
Fillmore Central Schools is having a week of dress up days before homecoming so we thought we'd join in on the fun 😀 GO FC!

Meet Jenny Cook.
This will be Mrs. Cook first year teaching at Fillmore County Head Start. Mrs. Cook has taught for over twenty years from preschool to high school students at different states. Mrs. Cook graduated from UNL with a BS in Child Development and earned her Masters degree in Early Childhood Education. Mrs. Cook is looking forward to a year full of excitement, fun and learning. Mrs. Cook is originally from Geneva where she resides with her family. Fun facts...she loves to take evening walks, watching movies, spending time with her pets, gardening, cooking and baking.

Meet Kasey Norder!!
Mrs. Norder will be teaching her third year at Fillmore County Head Start and this year is the start of her 9th year working in the Early Childhood field. Mrs. Norder graduated from Wayne State College in 2014 with a degree in Early Childhood Education. Mrs. Norder loves being a teacher, making relationships and memories with the kiddos and their families. Mrs. Norder enjoys traveling and watching and playing sports. Fun facts...she loves Dr. Pepper, popcorn, she grew up in a small town in western Nebraska, comes from a family of teachers and Fall is her favorite season.

Fillmore County Head Start is now recruiting children 0-5 years of age and prenatal moms.
We offer two program options,
Early Head Start- is our home based program that provides services at an early age such as education, nutrition medical and dental care which has a significant impact on a child's growth and development.
Head Start-is our center based preschool option, center is located at 1600 I Street, Geneva. We offer preschool services to children 3-5 years old, four days a week from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

Our teachers are learning a lot this Saturday at the "Different speed Different needs" conference where they are learning specific ways to help children with learning disabilities, Autism, aggression, sensory issues, stress, ADHD and anxiety.
This great team is heading to Omaha after school today to attend an Applebaum Training "Different Speeds Different Needs"

This week we are honoring our Foster Grandparent volunteer Linda Schmidt. Thank you Linda for all your hard work with each and every one of our children.
We enjoyed the nice weather yesterday and read our book “A Spoon for Every Bite” and did our small group practicing the Letter X outside!! 🌞📚
