From Fairbury Jeffs wrestling coach Derek Garfield
I’m gonna brag on my crew a little bit! We came to the toughest dual tournament in the state and we are leaving with 2 dual wins over Norris and Gretna!! We were the only team in the state of Nebraska smaller than a class A or B school that took the challenge of coming to this tournament. We grew as a team and got better as individual wrestlers! I am a proud coach!! Great first half of the season! The sky is the limit for this bunch!!

Fairbury Jr-Sr High School had the most food donated for the "Turkey Your Principal Food Drive", which was sponsored by Mrs. Hamel and FCCLA.
Who would have known so many lessons could be shared with students simply by wearing a turkey costume? Some important lessons I hope students learn today are:
(1) The importance of commitment and follow-through.
(2) Unique situations can either be rewarding or negative. It is your approach that determines the outcome.
(3) It is ok to laugh at yourself.
Relationships matter and I certainly hope students have enjoyed seeing me in a turkey costume for the majority of the day!
This week's Fairbury Jr-Sr High School Spotlight is Michael Riley!
