Welcome back to school! We have a few events coming up. This weekend is Campus Pass. We will head to UW on Friday and get to tour the campus and watch a UW Football Game on Saturday!
On the 22nd we will have our first Family Event at the Machine Shop at 6pm. Hope to see you all there!
We had the opportunity to see Arel Moodie in Mountain View! He gave us great advice about how to be successful and how to be happy based on the choices we make today!
FAMILY EVENT tomorrow May 11th at 6pm in the Machine Shop! We will be eating pasta, getting awards, and having a great time! Hope to see you there!
The University of Wyoming Discovery Days is coming up fast. April 1st and 2nd. Please RSVP Christine if you want to go. This is a great opportunity to check out the UW campus! This is for High School students only.
We will be at EMS Parent Teacher Conferences on Tuesday March 22nd. We will have computers available so students can apply for scholarships and look at college websites. It is also another chance for seniors to complete their FAFSA.

July 25-29 will be our High School Summer Academy. Join us for a week of fun at WWCC, Gillette college, and Mount Rushmore! This is a great opportunity to get the required summer academy and campus visits all in one trip!
June 20-24 is Teton Science Camp. This is a great opportunity for Middle School students. GEAR UP will pay for the entire week! RSVP Christine if you are interested.
April 1-2 is Discovery Days at the University of Wyoming! It will be an overnight trip to Laramie to learn what UW has to offer. RSVP to Christine if you are interested.

FAFSA night is coming up on February 23! All seniors it is mandatory that you attend this event! It is at 6pm in the High School Computer Lab.

College Freshman Jessica Miller, Shilo Anderson, and Aime Blair along with Sophomore Amanda Boden shared their college experiences with us. We discussed application process, things to do and not to do, as well as college life. GEAR UP students had the opportunity to ask questions while the panel answered. It was very interesting as well as helpful!
We had a fantastic meal while we listened to Trinity and got to know each other better.

Community Service is always a good thing to have on your applications for College! The Angel Tree Program is in need of volunteers to help wrap presents on December 14th. Contact Sarah at 799-6256.
The next ACT date is February 6th. You need to be registered by January 8. Please come see Anna or Devin in the Media Center for a Waiver Number so you don't pay for your ACT!
We have a Family Event coming up in January! It will be a Career Night! Come and learn more about different careers and interview someone from our community in that field.

Seniors and Juniors the next ACT you can take is FEBRUARY 6th. Register by January 8, 2016. PLEASE come see us in the Media Center so we can give you a waiver number to pay for the test.
For JUNIORS. If you would like to take the ACT for the first time please get registered. GEAR UP will pay for you to take the test TWO times! Please see Devin or Anna after school for a waiver number and we will help you register!

Do you have any interest in Cosmetology? Eastern Wyoming College in Torrington has a great program for that. It is the only program in Wyoming. A group of GEAR UP students are attending their Hands On Day on November 18th and 19th. There are also hands on sessions involving agriculture, business, and criminal justice, ect. They will leave Wednesday the 18th, stay the night in Cheyenne and attend the sessions on the 19th. They will be returning all the way home the 19th after sessions are over. If you are interested let Christine Wiley know ASAP!
